While I LOVE my neighborhood, I really did not enjoy my back yard at all because it was just grass (aside from a small garden right behind my house.) The only reason I would go out in my back yard was to mow or do what little gardening my small garden required. Is it wood? Absolutely beautiful space!** *(in Photo Questions)* A: Photo taken at Colonial Williamsburg in Virginia outside the Governor's Mansion - a classic design and yes - it's painted wood. Very beautiful in that location. **Q: What is the purple flower next to the hot pink peonies?** *(in Photo Questions)* A: That's lupine - a great selection for spiky color. The species is a biannual (blooms every other year) but look for hybrid types that are true perennials. **Q: Hostas** *(in Photo Questions)* Please, what is the name of Hosta. A: I have no idea, sorry. My camera and I travel to many gardens and I capture what catches my eye. Sometimes I make notes if there are tags, this looks like Island Breeze. **Q: What kind of wood is that?** *(in Photo Questions)* I really like the simple shape and design of this. I will always have at least one bird house or bird feeder in front of my kitchen window, I love watching birds. Love the birch peg detail and the asymetrical roofline. Photographed in Montreal. **Q: What plant is in this pic?
