> Their work is excellent. The attention to detail and desire to get the job done right was impeccable. Communication about price and timing of work to be done was extremely prompt. I will definitely use them again in the future.

> I worked with Steve Edick directly on our project. We bought a newly constructed home in Auburn last June. Steve did a significant amount of work for us including screening in our rear porch, hanging a couple of televisions and adding a few electrical outlets. The porch looks fantastic and all of the work that Steve and his team did for us was always done professionally and with care and attention to our needs. We highly recommend Intelligent Design and Renovation.

> Excellent results with great communication! Steve delivered as promised and kept me updated as the job progressed. Steve and his crew are clean, courteous, and efficient. I highly recommend!!!

> Job Description: enclosed porch to dining room conversion.
>
> This job was completed in a timely and professional manner. Steve was clear and accurate with his estimate and followed through on the agreed plan. When I suggested additional work be added to the project and Steve provided a revised timeline / estimate and when the material costs came in below his estimate he reduced the actual costs.

> My experience with ID&R was positive and I plan on doing more business with them in the future.

> Steve at Intelligent Design was great from start to finish! Replaced an exterior door for us and went above a beyond to make sure everything was installed properly but also refinished all the trim and weather proofed everything! Great job!!

> Steve is professional in all he does. I recommend him for projects large or small. He is committed to doing the job right and provides top notch customer service at a fair price. Equally or more important, Steve is honest and trustworthy.

> I had an incredibly AWESOME experience working with Steve, owner of Intelligent Design & Renovation. I have done many renovations and this one by far was the BEST!! Steve is very professional, communicates timely, and pays attention to detail. He made recommendations for things that I would not have thought of. Steve showed up when he said he would and he was conscientious of the schedule of my son and his roommates, who were living in the property. I would definitely hire Steve again, and if he is busy with other jobs, he is worth waiting on to have him complete a job. He gave my job his full attention and he got it done on time and on budget!!!

**★★★★★ — Toni Wolfe, Aug. 2020**

> Steve did an absolute fabulous job on replacing light fixtures, ceiling fans and the many extra stuff I asked him to do in the Auburn condo. Living in Birmingham, Steve went over and beyond on helping me get everything I needed done. When we realized I needed new ceiling fans he went to Home Depot to pick them up for me so I would not have to drive to Auburn. I could not have asked for a better person to do this work. He is very trustworthy. I am blessed to have come across a person that is honest and does what he says he is going to do.
> I would highly recommend Steve to anyone!!

**★★★★★ — Greg Stephenson, July 2020**

> When I purchased a home in Auburn, AL for my college age daughters, I needed someone that could handle all home repair & renovation needs. I also needed someone that was very professional, prompt, and trustworthy. Steve is that man. He has given me the piece of mind of knowing that my house is well cared for when I am 200 miles away. Just this past week, Steve made a quick visit the same afternoon to determine the right repair and within 24 hours, repair was made. I can’t say enough great things about the piece of mind he gives me. Steve has added lights in closet, lights on back porch and spotlights in back yards. He added blinds, and doggy door in back door. As you can see, IDR can do it all. Thank you Steve.

> I was introduced to Steve, the owner of Intelligent Design & Renovation by our listing agent. We were looking for someone to renovate & update our Condo prior to listing it for sale.
>
> Steve was very attentive to our situation. During his project of painting the whole condo he also found and corrected many potential issues that would be required to be fixed - prior to the sale.
>
> We are very fortunate that our listing agent knew about Steve. He and his team were very professional and most important, dependable

> Steve Edick is an absolute joy to work with. I am a Realtor and he has helped a number of my clients prepare their properties for sale or even made repairs from a home inspection. All of my clients only had nice things to say about him and his work. He is also very responsive and reliable. Thankful for his services and hard work. Highly reommend Intelligent Design and Renovation.

> I've used Intelligent Design & Renovation on several occasions over the past 4 to 5 years and have been extremely pleased with their work. They approach and complete every job as if they were working on their own property. Highly recommend.

## Community Q&A

**Q: Shower/exterior door** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Hello-
I am renovating a recently purchased Palm Springs, Ca home. I have two bathrooms that lead directly out to the pool. I am looking for exterior doors, preferably modern, frosted glass that can withstand being used within the shower. The concept is this. You enter the house, via the bathroom, shower off the chlorine, and move on with relaxation. Any suggestions?

A: Or a nano wall on the exterior...

**Q: rustic oak floors** *(in Photo Questions)*

what's the brand and style of these floors?

A: 3/4" x 5" Rustic Oak. It is solid oak from Middle Tennessee Lumber located in Dickson, TN. I believe this was grade 2/3. Natural finish / no stain

**Q: Flooring** *(in Photo Questions)*

What kind and color flooring is pictured?

**Q: Bad tile that cannot be removed** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Hello.

I have some bad kitchen tile that cannot be easily removed because it runs under all of the cabinetry.

My original plan was to replace it with hardwood or slate, darken the floors to a walnut, paint the cabinets white, add a white stone countertop, and paint the walls.

That is all thrown out the window now because that ugly orange tile cannot be removed so I am looking for opinions....

Keeping this tile what color can I restain the floors? What do I do with the cabinets? Leave them? Paint them? In general my whole color scheme goes out the window.

Or do I just wait, save the money and eventually just replace the whole kitchen?

There is a picture of the kitchen attached.

A: I'm pretty certain if you used a cutoff tool with a diamond blade (you might need a few...) that you could get close enough to your cabinets for a nice, clean cut edge on that ceramic tile. Be sure to remove your shoe molding first! Then proceed with demo as you normally would. I also recommend using a medium sized demolition hammer, goggles, and gloves. This allows you to match up with your existing floor
