**Q: Color** *(in Photo Questions)*

**Q: New coverings on sliding glass door** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I replaced the dated verticle blinds with a double rod with sheers and curtain panels on ring clips. Do you think its an improvement?

A: For sure an improvement.  I would add another panel or two to the sheer for fullness.  It would give it a elegant look

**Q: Side windows beside front door!** *(in Design Dilemma)*

What can you cover these side windows with for privacy?

A: There is a spray at the fabric store to give that frosted look. If you hate it just remove.  A big shutter over entire space would give you a good look. The only thing to remember is the depth of a blind can get in the way of door traffic

**Q: How do you cover windows like these?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I like to sleep in complete darkness and struggle to cover these windows! Privacy is not an issue as I have no close neighbors. This is the South side of the house in a hot climate that means you want coverage that is good too. What do you do with the offset windows (middle one is arched but in square moulding/casing? There is one more huge divided light window on the other wall. Also color of walls -- the whole room is BM Monterey White and then we have this one carmel colored wall...is that just making things harder?

A: Those are hard windows. A couple of ideas. Keep the blinds the same color as the trim. It will seem less busy. Also one nice lined drapery pulling off to each side might give you light control and a unified look

**Q: Help with curtains** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I don't know how to finish my family room - I was thinking of two curtain rods over the windows and sliding door with the same panels but not sure what type, ie. solid etc.  I am getting a sofa table and new coffee table and eventually want to replace the chair with a brown leather chair.   Do you think I should add a rug in the middle?  Thanks!!!

A: With the weight of the couch visually I would do a cornice over the windows and use the same heavier fabric on a one way draw drapery
