> I was very disappointed with Capitol Group and am so thankful that I chose a different supplier for my kitchen and bathroom needs.  Alicia was greatly lacking in the customer service area.  Plus, they were trying to sell us fiberboard cabinets for a pretty hefty price.  We chose a different supplier and purchased true plywood cabinets for a significantly lower price.  BEWARE of this shifty Company.

**Q: Kitchen molding** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Any suggestions on what we can do to divide this paint difference on crown molding on same wall.

A: Have you considered painting the cabinet crown to match the rest of the room? I do a lot of accent colors for crown and under cabinet light rail so it may look really good. I'd try a test piece and see if you like it.

**Q: Walk in shower or bathtub?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Master bathroom

A: I would suggest a walk in shower for the master bath if there is enough room for a separate soaking tub or a tub in one of the other baths.

**Q: Gap at the top of refrigerator** *(in Design Dilemma)*

We bought the counter depth refrigerator but unfortunately the water line does not allow for the refrigerator to go all the way in. Additionally, there is a gap between the top of refrigerator and the bottom of our cabinet. Any advice as to best way of filling that gap?

A: It looks like you have some type of under cabinet trim so I would use that to cover most of the space. Just leave about an inch for air circulation.

**Q: New kitchen design question** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Finalizing decisions on new home kitchen design and debating whether to go with one colour of cabinets throughout or split with two colours.  Kitchen design includes 9x4 ft island.  Colors I am thinking of are ivory white and/or light amber/walnut- ish color. Suggestions?

A: Your flooring type and color has a big impact on mixing cabinet colors but I like to make the island a paint with the perimeter cabinetry stained. There are many combinations that look terrific.

**Q: Refrigerator Cabinet Ideas** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I have a galley kitchen, cabinet with sink/dishwaher under window turns into an "L" down the one wall with stove/micro hood.  Lots of counter tops...other wall is refrigerator.  I am thinking a 24" metal/butcher block wheeled cart on one side of frig and pipe/butcher block shelves on other side of frig.  I really like the pipe shelves.  My problem is the space over the refrigerator??  Can I just hang the standard over frig cabinet without attaching side cabs?  Should I use matching side walls connected to top cabinet  - remember no attached side cabs?  

Would rather not leave it blank or fill with pipe shelves (too much of a good thing).  It's a smaller wall due to door way at one end.    Whatcha think?

A: You really have a couple choices. 
If you want to use a 24" deep cabinet above the refrigerator, you will need two 24" deep x 3/4" thick x your choice of height side panels. Attach the panels to the floor and wall. Attach the wall cabinet to the panels and wall studs. The 24" deep wall cabinet is front heavy and likely to pull away from the wall without the panels for support. Wood screws are recommended. I would avoid drywall screws.

A second choice is a 12" deep cabinet above the refrigerator screwed into the wall studs. A single wall cabinet hung without another wall cabinet screwed to it fails to spread weight so this cabinet could pull from the wall. I would refer to the manufactures installation instructions before proceeding.

what color cabinets match a cherry floor?

A: I think it's really about good contrast when choosing cabinetry with hardwood floors. Cherry tends to be more grainy with multiple light and dark tones. Here's a couple examples.
