We have been extremely satisfied with the work but about 2 weeks ago I called Komandor since the sliding doors of the closet were not running smoothly. I spoke with Robert from their service dept, and he sent the next day 2 people to fix the issue to our satisfaction. On top, I was not charged for the service. The installer was excellent but the designer was not. > My experience with the installer, Daniel, was stellar. He made sure that everything was completed correctly. Daniel and his coworker did a wonderful job removing the old doors, patching the holes, and installing the new doors and shelving. I was supposed to remove these items before they arrived, but I forgot to do so. Komandor was nice enough to waive the charge for this. I accepted full responsibility for the error, and made sure that I corrected the situation appropriately with the installer. Kudos to Daniel and his partner for going the extra mile. It was very much appreciated. > My experience with the designer, Louise, was fine until I decided to make a change, which she misunderstood. Despite the fact that I emailed her and had a telephone conversation about the change, the final plans for the closets didn’t accurately reflect the desired change. Luckily, Daniel was able to make part of the desired change happen. However, the end product is still not exactly what was expected. After expressing my concerns to Louise, she didn’t take responsibility for her error. I felt that my concerns were brushed off. Considering I payed $11K for three closets, I feel that someone from Komandor should have taken the time to correct the situation in some way. After reaching out to her post-installation, I received no reply whatsoever. Leaving a customer with no resolution is unacceptable. I’m not sure how Komandor can allow designers to ignore the concerns of customers. > In general, I’m happy with the quality of the product and the quality of the work. I’d highly recommend Daniel because of the outstanding job he did, and his ability to make changes and adapt the design to what was excepted. I’d recommend Komandor to anyone who wishes to spend a bit more money for a better quality custom product, but I’d definitely opt for a different designer. I feel that designers, especially senior designers, should be much more thorough and detail-oriented. They came up with a very attractive, floor-to-ceiling sliding door with opaque sections and wood-like panels. The office/den closet was done to include shelving, which could be converted to hanging if necessary, and a two-drawer filing cabinet. It all looks wonderful. Houzz powers-that-be, I sent you an email directly about the photo uploading issue and the issue is still ongoing. Worse, even? Are you working on it? What is the status of that? Also, while we're at it, the photo uploader that currently isn't working properly is still an inferior version of what we had before the switch to Houzz. Even when it works, it is pretty inconvenient to upload the image to Houzz or save it locally and then upload it. It takes more data, takes up space in my hard drive that I then have to clear, and it is just 12 extra steps for each picture I post. It used to just be a matter of finding a photo online that illustrates my point and then typing <img src="URL of the photo"> into my comment. SO SIMPLE. Why isn't that allowed anymore, and can we have it be allowed anyway?
