He had convinced me he was the right man for the job based on his enthusiasm for the project. However, once I signed the contract the experience has been a nightmare. He took many payments from me promising me he would progress with the project but would not followed through. > After receiving over $135,000 from me he did not deliver. We ultimately part ways with him agreeing to some refund. Again he has not followed through with the payments. I strongly recommend you stay away from him. Your life will be hell if you don't. He may seem nice and eager but don't be fooled. It's worth paying more for a reputable contractor because if you don't you will ultimately end up paying even more. Please take my review seriously. If so, who would do this sort of thing? It would be too disruptive to remove all the boxes. A: Unless you're looking for a factory finish, a professional faux finisher should be able to finish it in your home without a problem! **Q: New dining room!!!** *(in Before & After)* Before and after!!! Still slightly unfinished...any suggestions are welcome!! I'd like a new floral centerpiece, a simple table runner, and something simple for each side of the mirror!! Suggestions? Thanks! A: Love the chandelier!! Some tall thin lamps on the buffet could bring in the crystals from the chandelier to the side board. Add some fabric captains chairs (that can be used at the ends) into the room that will bring in the black in a contemporary / glam pattern! We found a cute starter house that we really like but are struggling with figuring out where we would put the TV! It is driving me crazy and we need to decide if we are making an offer. Kristi A: @thompsonkristi - yes. that is the perfect solution. The tv on a hidden arm that swivels in that location that @BeverlyFLADeziner just showed is the best bet. It will give you the ability to lie down on one couch and see it, and sit on another and see it. The TV will be accessible, but not the focal point of your room. Your window treatments, furniture, and fabric will still be the stars of the room - which is as it should be. **Q: Painting stone fireplace** *(in Design Dilemma)* I would like to paint this fireplace and lighten it up to a neutral instead of the dark browns. Any advice on what paints or stains to do this? THANKS A: Chalk paint is a great option if the grout is sealed - if you're looking for a single color. Whitewashing it is also a nice option then doing a dark stain mantle would look nice. **Q: Run Range Hood Into a Chimney?** *(in Design Dilemma)* I'm in the middle of building my kitchen and I need to mount the range hood today. The nearest outside wall is about 2 meters on the right and I was thinking about running it through it. However as it turns out there is a lintel on the top of that wall and so the only option is to make the duct do a right turn and then slowly decrease at around 10% angle till the wall so it can get out below the lintel. There is a second option though which I find more appealing. There is a nice and wide chimney which is not used by anything else. The issue is that to get to it I have to make two 90 degree turns and run the duct 6 meters. Unfortunately these are the only two options for my range hood and I've already bought an expensive one. What do you think is better? A: Without the heat of a fire, there is nothing to push the air up the chimney and out. It is not an acceptable vent. --- *Source: Houzz professional profile.
