> Our Winnetka home kitchen design was done in 1992 and the appliances needed to be replaced. The Dacor ovens were shot, only 2 burners on the cooktop worked. In addition to replacing the appliances, we wanted to update the kitchen and add new quartzite counter tops. Our cabinets were still beautiful so we kept them along with the original kitchen layout. We didn't want the expense of redoing the entire kitchen design. I walked into DG Design without an appointment, originally to look at counter tops on display. Dan DeGiulio came out to answer my questions. Although Dan usually handles complete kitchen design work, he immediately helped my project with cost-saving solutions and ideas. From that time on, Dan was on call. He shared names of an awesome stone designer and a contractor who could do plumbing, electricity, tile work, painting and anything else we needed. Dan's vision and aesthetics, knowledge of mechanical issues, and great professional contacts made it possible for me to get my kitchen remodeling done. I highly recommend Dan DeGiulio and DG Design.

Beautiful kitchen! Is the fridge counter depth? How does it look so close in depth to the counters?

A: Thank you for contacting DG Kitchen & Bath. Yes- this refrigerator is counter-depth (plus the door thickness). Additionally, we made the adjacent cabinets deeper, so the built-in look can be achieved.

A: Hello! The lighting below these floating shelves is low-voltage LED type. You could try LampsPlus and Lumens for hard-wired type.

A: Hi, the tile is a 4" x 16" gloss ceramic tile, which can be purchased through most tile retail outlets.

I've seen this open-shelves-in-the-corner thing a few times and it's really growing on me. Any recommendations for minimum width and depth to maximize accessibility?

A: Hello and thank you for contacting DG Kitchen & Bath. Regarding the corner shelves, we recommend at least 24" wide and no less than 8" depth on the shelves. Good luck with your project!

The sink countertop is Brazilian Calacata Quartzite and yes- the island is the same material.

**Q: Upper cabinets dimensions** *(in Photo Questions)*

Love the kitchen, can you tell me the dimensions of the upper cabinets next to range? They seem to be a little different to me.  Thank you

A: Hello and thank you for your question! The upper cabinet to the right of the hood is 37" wide and the upper cabinet to the left is 54" wide.
