## Community Q&A

**Q: What is the square footage of this cottage?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Hi

This cottage has a footprint of approx. 1500 sq.ft., with some upper level space and some finished basement. All in all, about 2400 sq.ft. of finished area. It was on a tight lot but we made good use of the space I believe.

**Q: So pretty! How high are the ceilings? Thanks!** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Thanks for the question. About 18' high in the centre peaked portion, about 10' high where sloping ceiling meets the wall.

**Q: Can you tell me where to find the oars hanging on the walls** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Hi
There are some interior décor stores in Port Carling, Muskoka, that carry accessories like these. "Muskoka Living" and "Peaks and Rafters"

**Q: Nice tile...** *(in Photo Questions)*

Can you tell me what the tile is that was used on the walls and floor here. It's beautiful.
Thank you!

A: Yes, that's correct. Its not a hard tile to source in Ontario. Try Olympia Tiles to start.

**Q: Could you please share the name of the stone on the fireplace.** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: I believe its Owen Sound limestone ledgerock, dry laid.
Its certainly a dry-laid ledgerock at any rate.

**Q: Canoe** *(in Photo Questions)*

How did you hang the canoe? We love the idea and have a hand made Canoe

A: The canoe is secured on a custom metal bracket, lagged into the wall structure. Old canoes are usually heavier than newer ones. Make sure its REALLY secure!

If you don't mind a hole in the canoe (if it will NEVER be floated again) the lags could go through the canoe itself.
