> We have used Servant Remodeling on four separate occasions and will continue to call on them in the future. Our first experience was the master bathroom followed by a guest bath, the Jack & Jill bath and lastly new flooring and removal of popcorn ceiling.. All three came out beautifully. Ron and Andrew were so easy to work with and their crew did an excellent job. We definitely look forward to working with them again. Little by little they are making our home even better than it was to begin with. Thanks Servant Remodeling!

> I had Servant Remodeling complete a full remodel of my home a couple of years ago—kitchen, bathroom, and everything in between—and I honestly couldn’t be happier with how it turned out.
> From start to finish, their communication was excellent, and they made the entire process feel easy and well-organized, even though it was a major investment. They were professional, on time, and always kept me in the loop while handling every part of the remodel seamlessly.
> Rob was fantastic to work with—very cordial, detail-oriented, and organized. Andrew was incredibly responsive anytime I needed anything, which made a big difference throughout the project.
> I recommend them without hesitation. In fact, they’re currently working on another project for me—a porch and driveway—which tells you everything you need to know about how much I trust them. Amazing group of people.

**★ — Doug, Nov. 2023**

> Do not use this company. A total bait and switch. Quoted us our budget price, got $5k from us to get started and than more then doubled the final price. Owner Rob Jackson did the whole process from beginning to end. Do not give any money upfront!!! Just use someone else.

**Comment from Servant Remodeling:**

> Doug,
> I'm sorry you feel that way. The design process of having you select materials and decide on designs so that we can get to an exact cost is a starting point in the process of getting to the final proposal that meets your goals at the amount you want to spend. I have no way of knowing the exact cost until we get to that stage. I also don't know what materials you will pick or what ideas you may like that come about during the design process. As you can see from the adjusted proposals we did, it is possible to make changes to get the project to your budget. During the selection and design process when you're exploring ideas and seeing really nice materials it is easy to end up over budget, have a reality check on what's important and then make adjustments to get it to where you want to be. Rob Jackson

> Servant remodeling did an excellent job on our remodeling project. They completely redesigned our kitchen and master bath. Those rooms were demolished and rebuilt. The result is beautiful and so much more functional. The project took a bit longer than expected because we live in a 3 story townhome which presented some challenges as the projects were on floors 2 and 3. The cabinets are beautiful and their designer helped us pick out the perfect tile and stone components. Overall, very pleased with the entire project.

**★★★★★ — Janell DiCarlo, July 2019**

> I originally used Servant Remodeling for my kitchen back in 2009. I was so pleased with their work I asked them to come back and remodel my two bathrooms. I would use them again if I had any other spaces to update in my house. They stick to the budget, get all work done in a timely manner, the decorator helped me narrow down colors, tiles and cabinets based on what my tastes were. I'd use them again in a heartbeat.

**★★★★★ — Norma Phillips, July 2019**

> Servant Remodeling brought to life our hopes and dreams for the improvement of our bathrooms. I remain extremely pleased with the results that I enjoy every day.

**★★★★ — Terri Teague, April 2017**

> We used Servant to remodel our kitchen and open up our living/dining space. We also had a room and foyer combined to create a new office. We met with Rob and he returned with several different plans. Although the cost was over our intended budget we felt comfortable with Rob and his professionalism. The actual project was overseen by Andrew. He has great attention to detail and was very easy to work with. We had to have some exterior design changes and the brickwork looks great. The kitchen is amazing and we are very pleased with the quality of materials. Our only complaint would be with the painters. The quality did not match the other workmanship. We are thrilled with the final results!

**★ — Cassandra Russell, Feb. 2017**

> ++CAUTION++ Be very careful when calling this company. The owner Rob Jackson is all about MONEY! I called to request someone come out and give me an estimate on a couple of small remodeling projects. He never came out and looked at what needed to be done. He just quoted me this ridiculous price over the phone. He quoted me $25,000 for both projects. I then asked how much would it be to only do one of the projects, he said $20,000. I told him that was way overpriced for the one small job. His reply was, well we don't do jobs less than $20K. So no matter how small the job is, he will charge you a minimum of $20K, if you'll go for it. RIP OFF!!

**Comment from Servant Remodeling:**

> Cassandra, I'm sorry for the misunderstanding, but we do not charge $20,000 regardless of the project. For our business model we find by doing fewer larger projects we are able to provide a much better service than if we did many small projects. Our minimum project size is $20k for new clients. For past clients we will take care of their smaller needs. We try to give a realistic idea of a project over the phone to make sure we are a good fit for one another. I am all about making a client excited about their new project and seeing them happy about using us to achieve their dreams. Rob Jackson

> We replaced all of our 20 year old contractor windows with new Pella windows and changed our projecting (bay window type) master bed and living room windows into window seats. The outside of the house was repainted and about 60% of our wood floors were refinished. Lights were moved in the entry way and dining room to more properly center in the room and new light fixtures installed. Remote control ceiling fans were added to the master bed and living room. Our mantel and hearth were rebuilt to conform to a new wood burning fireplace insert (insert was not installed by Servant). Front and back doors were replaced and altered from the original configuration. Back door was a Pella french door. The work performed by Servant direct employees was outstanding and I would welcome them to our house again gladly. However the house repaint and floor refinish performed by people contracted to Servant was definitely below par. The painters did not primer the house before painting and the paint used was not one of the variations that contain primer. Overspray on our brick was and still is an issue. They also retreated our wood fence with supplies I provided and did not tell me they needed more to completely finish the fence. Since the area was on a side that faces a neighbor, I did not notice until later that the area had not been retreated. The wood flooring replaced around the hearth granite (on the floor) does not fit smoothly, with high and low places. The wood the contractor installed had to be repaired in less than a month because it popped up and the urethane they used the second time was different and dried to a definite yellow tint. The wood was not allowed to adjust to our house humidity before installation which caused large gaps to appear between boards. We had to cover the area with rugs to hide the defects. Hopefully he has replaced the contractors with either new contractors or direct employees by now. I would recommend Servant for remodeling needs, but be sure and watch the quality of contractors work if they are used.

**★★★★★ — chayamiriam, Oct. 2015**

> Servant Remodeling began the project with a dated and worn-out kitchen, oddly shaped, and created an elegant design incorporating new cabinetry with some of the original oak cabinets restored. The new kitchen has granite counters and an island, tile flooring, new appliances, and terrific composite granite sinks. Our favorite features, both suggested by the contractor, are refrigerators "book-ending" the main work area and a nifty walk-in pantry. The final kitchen is simply gorgeous and friends and family enjoy being in it.
>
> We found Rob Jackson to be not only creative and insightful about kitchens, but also meticulous about the finished product and very patient with our indecisiveness.

**★★★★★ — shellyo67, Sept. 2015**

> We are extremely happy with everything about this project and everybody we dealt with. Rob gave us some suggestions that we hadn't thought about when we told him what we were looking for in our new kitchen. Those suggestions were right on target, and we ended up gutting the entire kitchen to get our dream kitchen. The timeline that was given to us was met. The employees and subs that worked were very friendly and respectful of our home. The attention given to detail is what impressed us. if we had another project that we needed done, we would hire Servant Remodeling probably without even getting a quote from another company.

**★★★★★ — rrita1, Sept. 2015**

> Whole house was finished in 10 weeks. Workmen were very professional and picked everything up at the end of each day, around 4:30 PM. Workmen showed up at 8:00 every morning. Job was carefully supervised by the owner, Rob Jackson. We lived in the house the whole time it was being remodeled. Kitchen and bathrooms were gutted. Some structural defects were corrected that had been built into the house. We are very satisfied with the work that Servant Remodleing did.

**★★★★★ — harrytrue14, Sept. 2015**

> Complete remodeling of a 1600 sq. ft. 2nd floor condo. Beautiful job that turned out even better than we imagined. New walls, bathroom and kitchen remodel. Wood floors redone and lots of new cabinets and built-ins installed.

**★★★★★ — Tom Glasson, Sept. 2015**

> We did a major remodel (for us), involving our kitchen, den, and dining room. Project involved moving walls, plumbing, electrical, new windows, and lots of finish work. Quality of work was excellent and done on time. Many trades were used in the process and Rob kept strict watch over them. Some issues arose, ( as the would on any project of this size), and Rob dealt with them quickly and professionally, and to our satisfaction.
>
> Would we use these guys again? Absolutely.
> Were they the cheapest? No, but you get what you pay for and we are very happy.

**★★★★★ — csulla62, Sept. 2015**

> Servant Remodeling was extremely professional and did an excellent remodel of my kitchen and bathroom. I had a few minor problems after completion of the project and they promptly made those repairs with a great attitude. I will use them for future projects on my home and recommend them to friends and family.

**★★★★★ — 1jmusial, Aug. 2015**

> Made my kitchen remodel easy. Was very helpful in giving ideas that gave me addition cabinets and fit an island in nicely- Stayed in budget and was a good experience as they took out half wall. Also put in USB - Electrical outlets making device charging easy -
> I give a full 100% recommendation to use Servant Remodeling!

**★★★★★ — frank\_wilbanks, Aug. 2015**

> I have used Rob in the past & will again. I have referred Rob to 2 other people & they thought the same as I did. They were as pleased with the job he did. He is an honest guy with a great crew of guys that work with him.

**★★★★★ — cwissler, Aug. 2015**

> There is only one word that comes to mind when I think about Rob Jackson and Servant Remodeling: ROCK STAR!!! Rob and his team helped my with three homes in the last few years. One was a complete major downstairs and kitchen remodel, the other two projects were medium sized. The quality of the work is outstanding, the adherence to the schedule is second to none, but the major takeaway for me is the servant leadership and extreme customer service that Servant Remodeling provides. I highly recommend Rob Jackson and will continue to use Servant Remodeling in the future. My very best, Claus

**★★★★★ — tribuleroy, Aug. 2015**

> We've had our kitchen remodeled in its entirety by Servant Remodellng.
> They did a great job from A to Z. The team is a pleasure to work with : competent, efficient, courteous, respectful and helpful in any way they can. Rob Jackson is always listening to you and give professional advice. He's also very attentive to details and we ended up with a new kitchen exceeding our expectations. And last but not least, the project was finished on time and on budget. After the kitchen they installed hardwood floors in a few rooms and the job was impeccable.
> Servant Remodeling provides great services and.... peace of mind.

**★★★★★ — betsyal, Aug. 2015**

> The first time I met Rob Jackson of Servant Remodeling, I could tell he was very experienced and knew what he was doing. His attention to detail, his attitude, patience, and professionalism made all the difference. I first had Rob design a new plan to replace my original 1957 kitchen. I loved the design, and his team did an excellent job delivering. I've previously had my master bath and guest bath remodeled by 2 different contractors - much smaller jobs - but stressful! So I'm so thankful to have had such a wonderful experience with Rob, Andrew, and their crew. They gutted my kitchen, and 6 weeks later my remodel was completed on time, as budgeted, without surprises. I am so very happy with the job they did. I love my new kitchen!

**★★★★★ — lgrigsby25, Aug. 2015**

> Servant Remodeling was secured to enlarge the house by expanding an exterior wall out about 10 feet to enable us to move the dinning room into the space that was now connected with the great room. This large open space is open to the great room, the kitchen and the breakfast area. This was done with extra supportive beams in the attic to eliminate the need for any interior columns that would obstruct the view. The new area included 4 windows, full panel 4 x8 panes that look out on to the golf course. An additional back porch was constructed and tiled. All of this was placed under a new over hang accomplished by adjusting the roof line of the original structure.
> In addition two of the three full bathrooms were remodeled. One from damage that occurred with a leaking overhead (in the attic) air conditioning unit. Another bath was totally redesigned by removing the tub, expanding that area for an enlarged shower. All tiled, with new cabinets and fixtures.
> The crews at Servant Remodeling are skilled, efficient, courteous and worked with the owner in getting the job completed. Their work areas were always clean and the structure was cleaned each day so as to allow us to continue living in the house during the reconstruction.
> The initial proposals included everything we discussed and were prepared in detail. The line items were totaled with costing at various intervals during the construction. Detailed drawings were provided that outlined the nature of the work that would be undertaken.

**★★★★★ — seneca\_menard, Aug. 2015**

> I frequently use servant remodeling because I know that I'm going to get the level of quality that matches my expectations.. I had tried a couple of other companies beforehand and found that some of them gave some extremely shoddy results and I didn't want to have that happen ever again so once I found Servant Modeling, I haven't gone to anyone else. :)

**★★★★★ — jimandmerv, Aug. 2015**

> We hired Servant Remodeling to replace our kitchen cabinets. We wanted to use the same configuration so we could reuse the granite counter tops. Servant Remodeling was very helpful, in choosing the materials, designing the cabinets to fit the configuration, scheduling everything and showing up when they said they would as well as ensuring that we had a great experience. There subs were very good and the remodel was a very pleasant experience. We would use them again. M/M JB

> They remodeled my kitchen a few years ago. I'm still loving it! All the work was done in a timely manner and all the workers were wonderful. They stayed within my budget and helped come up with a very user friendly design our family enjoys.

**★★★★★ — baynham43, Aug. 2015**

> We have used Servant Remodeling for two projects. (1) minor kitchen remodel (installing granite counter tops, reworking ceiling lighting, etc.); (2) replacing an old redwood deck with a concrete one (this involved removing a multi-level deck and retaining walls, installing stone-block retaining walls with footings piered to bedrock, pouring the concrete deck, and installing wrought iron railings. On both jobs their personnel were profession, competent, knowledgeable, and friendly. The work was performed quickly. We are very satisfied customers, and will use Servant Remodeling again!

## Community Q&A

**Q: Backsplash over the windows?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Hello All!
I really need some help ! My husband and I are in the middle of our kitchen reno and we are stumped . We put our backsplash under the windows and cabinets and the whole wall of the hood ,but we're not sure if we should continue it above the windows. He thinks it looks incomplete, I think it might be too much if we added it above the windows. Here are some pictures , we don't have the hood installed yet , but hopefully we can get some insight as to what would be best . Thank you so much !
Mona

A: I say tile the entire wall, you could fit in a small tile design or a couple feature tiles above the windows to change it up.

**Q: To paint the ceilings or not to paint the ceilings?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Hi everyone! My husband and I recently purchased a home and plan to move into it soon but we have a couple of problems.
1\) We need to furnish the entire thing!
2\) We love the home but need to put our stamp on it. My husband is adamant in keeping the colorful ceilings as they are. Me, not so much. I may have to sit this battle out and give him his way because I will be making the decisions with the decorating aspect of this project. The previous owners apparently traveled the world quite often and spent A LOT of money on bringing the places they visited into their home. The kitchen is French inspired while the formal living room (shown in the photo) was inspired by a trip to Italy or something. I can't recall. We are eager to make it our own but don't know where to start. We are very serious about hiring an interior decorator who lives here in the United States and wouldn't mind traveling to where we live so he or she can basically help us select colors, furnishings and all those lovely things to make this space livable. We are looking for a luxurious and upscale feel because the home and grounds are worthy of it. Our style is modern, with a little bit of traditional and eclectic. We want it to match the home so everything is cohesive and transitional. Oh, and we love color. How can we make it our own while still keeping the ceiling in the formal living room? We are opened to professional and non-professional opinions and suggestions. Any leads as to who we can hire would be excellent. Thank you!!

A: The first image, I will call it the living room. All that wood and those beams would look amazing in their natural state. Just the bare wood with a nice to stain.

**Q: POLL: Black or White Kitchen?** *(in Polls)*

We see a lot of all white kitchens on Houzz, but fewer all black kitchens. Which do you prefer?

VOTE and tell us about it in the comments!

A: I guess it just comes down to preference. I am personally like the black kitchen, but i am obviously outvoted. The all black modern design is very attractive along with the light fixture above. I can't imagine having to clean that though.

**Q: Accessorizing My Kitchen..Forgive the ugly cabinets!** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I would like to give my kitchen a fresh look. Without doing a kitchen renovation, any suggestions on accessorizing the bakers rack, counter tops and table? I like to keep place settings on the table for interest but only if you concur!! The overall house style I am going for is transitional. And I anticipate you wanting me to remove my window treatment!!!!

A: remove the wallpaper like others have said, maybe a small glass tile to replace. Lovely kitchen, just something to brighten it up.

**Q: I just hate my master bedroom and need some guidance** *(in Design Dilemma)*

My master is big, t runs front to back of my house, but awkwardly laid out cause of windows on 3 of 4 walls. I had gutted the room to add more let's. my mother, an interior designer, was furious with me, at the time cause she thought I did a very bad job . But, in my defense, it was impossible to get a decent sized closet cause of the windows. I actually chose to lose a window in the back of the bedroom in order to make a small walk in and enlarge my master bath. Anyway, I chose funky vintage dressers and chest and 2 newer matching night stands, all f which I hate now. I am not changing my upholstered headboard or curtains or chaise lounge fabric all if which were kind of pricey. But, I am thinking of changing all the furniture, what do you think of cream colored painted wood? I also would like suggestions foe bedding.

A: what about some funky, colorful lamps and maybe paint one wall as a feature wall. http://www.minimalisti.com/furniture/furniture-design/01/fascinating-designer-bedside-lamps.html

**Q: Kitchen remodel -- Need help updating small dark kitchen** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Need help updating small U-shaped kitchen. We're willing to put in new cabinets, appliances, flooring and lighting. This is a row house with limited space so we are going to keep the kitchen closed, since we need the wall space. Can this be done for $30,000?

A: I would be very interest to see how you made out, and the pictures. I can tell you probably did a great job because you were so detailed in your planning. It is very easy to look at 30k and think that it is more than enough, but if you actually try and plan out every dollar you will see that it is easy to go over budget. Our designers work hand in hand with our contractors and clients to make sure the budget is determined ahead of time and met at the end of the project.
