> Look elsewhere for professional advice. We got burned by another company owned by Neil Parsons (Design Build Pros, then changed of name to Design Build Planners) over 5 years ago and continue to warn others... that's how bad it was. Took over $5k to design a kitchen addition for us and after several ridiculous floorplans asked us for more money to continue trying. By "ridiculous" I mean no consideration to load bearing walls, water and electrical routing being placed in the most difficult places, kitchen counters and appliances just placed against walls of a 20x15 foot room. Imagine walking across a dance floor sized space to get from the sink to the stove. There were zero design skills in the product they provided and gave up realizing that they weren't capable of providing it. This is just a ploy to get your money, give you bad advice and hope you move on and chalk it up to a lesson learned. Don't fall for it.

> DBP were worth every penny! Helped me through all stages of my renovation. I couldn’t have done it without them!

**Comment from IMPROVE or MOVE:**

> Jessica, thank you so much for your kind words! We feel the space turned out quite nicely. A good combination of function and style!

> I had no idea what to expect when Neil and the Design crew discussed how they could help me plan the remodeling of my pizzeria. I had watched plenty of TV shows of course but I had never needed to redesign space until this project. Even durning the early discussions I still wasn't sure what I was getting involved in but then came the book! After several discussions on what I had in mind for the space Neil brings me the designs and I'm floored with how much attention to detail they have and how the Design team was able to take what I talked about and turn it into a real tangible layout that I could show to contractors! Simply awesome! The best was yet to come! Armed with the design I was now able to compare apples to apples with the different contractors that showed up to pitch me why I should be hiring them to complete the work. That was the best part because now I was able to get multiple bids on the work without the worry of did I explain the work correctly? the same? to each of these people. It was as simple as showing them the design and having them compete to give me what I was showing them. A real game changer for sure. I definitely recommend Neil and his team for any project! They provide a whole lot more PLUS peace of mind and that is worth the price of admission.

**Comment from IMPROVE or MOVE:**

> Thank you so much, Marty! The DBP team had much fun working with you on the designs and subsequent transformation. Jason gets 99% of the credit for the computer design work. We truly enjoy visiting our clients after the project's completion to see the final product as well as sometimes sharing a glass of wine and a bite to eat. Even better, with your project for the dining area of Mijo's Pizzeria on Lake Ave. in Colonia, NJ we get to visit quite often to appreciate the new look, delicious food and a glass of wine.

> We know the team from DBP when they were with "Mark of Excellence". Neil and Jason Parsons are very professional design contractors. They did the remodel of the exterior of our house and also the master bathroom. Both projects resulted with excellent results. All the contractors that were involved with each renovation were very professional, courteous, and very conscious of our family situation. We are currently working with them on an upstairs bathroom remodel. We anticipate the same excellent results from DBP this time around.. Their contractors are all very professional and the detail of their workmanship is outstanding. We would highly recommend Neil and Jason Parsons (DBP) and all the contractors they use.

**Comment from IMPROVE or MOVE:**

> Thank you so much for your kind words! It is our pleasure to have been able to work with you over many years.

**★ — HU-964597916, April 2019**

> I hired these guys to do a renevation on my home. They sold me $7,000 designs showing me a $250,000 renovation and then I never heard from them again. These guys seem much more interested in selling you over priced designs then doing actual work on your home. You don’t need them or their over priced designs, there are legitimate contractors who won’t make you feel like you got scammed.

**Comment from IMPROVE or MOVE:**

> We are project designers, not contractors. We do not produce or build any projects. That is made clear to all. Our process is consistent: meet a family and discuss their renovation desires and budget ranges. For a fee, computer design various floor plan options with full-color elevations, list a scope of work, show a macro calendar timeline, obtain a virtual quote(s) from a remodeler(s) in our network to possibly build the project. After presenting this, the client reviews the options and sends us their request for a full revision set based upon their design desires and budget ability. On large projects, we most often include/design all for homeowners can envision the final, full project, but many clients hire/build the project in phases based upon their funds. Our price menu and design package options can be seen here, on our website: https://www.designbuildpros.com/remodeling-design-development-price-list/

> DBP is the best. Highly professional and polite, and are on top of every detail. I could not recommend them more highly.

> From the initial contact with the Design Build Pros Team Staff I felt confident that I was working with a professional, dedicated group. They responded quickly to my inquiry; gave me several options for in-person consultation; emailed me information with regard to company philosophy; provided links to completed dedigns similar to my project; arrived on time to my scheduled appointment; took great care to listen to my ideas and provide expert consultation. From onsite visit to detailed design of my bathroom remodel, communication was strong and Neil made me feel like I was his only project! I am beyond thrilled with Design Build Pros Team‘s workmanship and highly recommend giving them a call.

**Comment from IMPROVE or MOVE:**

> Thank you so much for your kind words. It was a pleasure working together with you. It was also wonderful meeting Wrigley!

> Getting straight answers on how to do a basement project is never easy, but Design Build Pros will walk you through everything. Their meticulous about everything, they are knowledgeable, honest....exactly what you want when you are building out a basement. We highly rec DBP!

**Comment from IMPROVE or MOVE:**

> Thank you so much! It was a pleasure working together with your ultra-professional team. You made the clients dream and our computer design (image attached) become a reality. We look forward to collaborating on the next project.

> We sold our house last year, and have been leasing one since then while looking for our next new home, and we were a bit overwhelmed when we settled on a short-sale in order to be in the area we liked. The best thing that could have happened to us was meeting Andrew, Neil and Jason because they were able not only to simplify our project, but also organize it, give us the visual aspect (very important since we had no clue as to how it should look) and more importantly, a budget we could handle. They are professional, attentive, knowledgeable, friendly and responsive. Neil and Jason were always ready to make whatever changes we asked, and timely provide new designs for us to review. Neil came over our house several times to patiently explain to us all the pros and cons, make suggestion and provide ideas. They made introduction to several vendors for products we would require, and we were treated like royalties by all of them. I can only say no matter how big or small, if you are contemplating any type of remodeling, you need to speak with Andrew, Neil or Jason and let them simplify your remodeling project while removing the burden associated with any home related project. Thank you Andrew, Neil and Jason for ALL your help and patience, and for making yourselves available anytime in the future.

**Comment from IMPROVE or MOVE:**

> Roy, thank you so much for the super kind words! You and Mariana were an absolute pleasure to work with. We are all excited to see the transformation of your new home. I will remind you of our deal: when the project is completed, Mariana cooks the first meal in her new dream kitchen and we bring the first bottle(s) of wine!

**★★★★★ — Michael Mattia, May 2017**

> Met the professionals from Design Build Pros at home show. We were considering doing interior renovation to our home and needed some guidance. My wife and I are not creative and while we had ideas of what we would like to do to our house Design Build Pros were able to show us in photos what finished product would look like. While we did not pick out exact tile and cabinets in presentation it helped tremendously with the process. Could not have been happier with all the help received.

**Comment from IMPROVE or MOVE:**

> Thank you so much for your kind words! We are glad to be able to help you at the onset of your major renovation. We are proud to give dreams and visions shape and definition through our computer designs and project development process.

**★★★★★ — Debbie Leshno, May 2017**

> They are a professional and accurate company to work with. They work well with communicating to us what is needed. I would highly recommend this company to everyone.

**Comment from IMPROVE or MOVE:**

> Thank you so much for your kind words, Debbie. It was a pleasure working for you!

**★★★★★ — Geraldine Stalonas, April 2017**

> We feel very fortunate to have found Design Build Pros. We were grappling with seemingly impossible design issues of incorporating a washer/dryer into a complete bathroom remodel. Jason took on the challenge and assiduously worked to come up with possible solutions. Eventually, he told us that he just didn't think what we wanted would be feasible within the parameters of our small bathroom. We had come into this project naively thinking that just because we wanted this, it could be done. We thank this team for their integrity, honesty and frankness in leading us to nix our original plan and proceed in another direction.
> Jason perfectly followed my leads in putting together new plans for the room. Eventually, I selected elements I liked from each of his 3 plans, and Plan 4 was it -- the perfect envisionment of my dream bathroom!
> It was rewarding and exciting working with these gentleman. They are professional, creative, knowledgeable, as well as receptive to input from their clients. We were also very grateful to have been introduced by them to venues with excellent service and products for all our plumbing and tile selections.
> If we were to remodel again, there is no doubt that we would call upon Design Build Pros.

**Comment from IMPROVE or MOVE:**

> It was a pleasure to work with you as well! Small space designs are always a challenge and we are always excited to work with clients that open minded and enthusiastic. No project is ever my design--it is always ours, as we all work together to create the style and function for your individual needs!

## Community Q&A

**Q: Size** *(in Photo Questions)*

Please tell me the size of this thanks

A: It was a few years ago. The client found it. I'll see if I can find the information. I do recall that it expensive but it was the look she wanted

**Q: Love the overall effect!** *(in Photo Questions)*

Can you please tell me what you used on the wall and floor?

A: Moisture resistant drywall on ceilings and walls. Coretec flooring. Thank you!

**Q: Pendant lighting over island** *(in Photo Questions)*

Who makes them and where can they be purchased

A: Sorry. Those were purchased and supplied by the homeowner so we have no record of it. When we shop for them, this is where we go: http://warshauerlightingdesign.com/

**Q: Portico** *(in Photo Questions)*

What was the cost to build this?

A: This one was approx. $20K Front entry porticos start at approx $8K and will go up based on size, style and tie in to the existing home. The need for new footings and/or steps/alding will also drive the investment up.

**Q: What brand are the oiled bronze appliances?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Those are Jenn-Air appliances, but they no longer make oil-rubbed bronze.

**Q: Counter?** *(in Photo Questions)*

What is the counter?

A: It is quartz. A Caesarstone product
