> We were nervous to start such an undertaking, however from the very start of our 2 bathroom and laundry room renovation project, Tanya, Jeff, Ronalee and their amazing contractors Scott, Thomas and many others, made this experience our dream come true. By listening, observing and truly caring, they helped us make our very basic design and style ideas into reality. They helped us stick to our budget and project timeframe and were transparent when changes would affect either aspect. Using their design knowledge and flare, they brought products for us to review and were patient with our questions and suggestions. They then brought in their amazing teams to make this dream happen for us. They were also patient with us when the project grew and we requested the addition of ceiling lighting throughout a good portion of the house. They made it happen and continued to work directly with the teams on all aspects. They were often onsite overseeing the project all the way to the end. The entire team was very professional, talented and truly are all very kind people. We extend our heartfelt thanks to all of them for this new beginning in our home and we would highly recommend them for any home project.

> I am extremely satisfied with the work of Xstyles. I wanted my kitchen and bathroom updated. I got my entire condo updated. The bathrooms and kitchen were much so nice I got rest of the condo updated. I left the colors and designs entirely up to Tonya and it turned out beautifully. The outcome was much higher than I imagined. My freind that have seen it are amazed at the transformation. I would highly recommend Xstyles.

**★★★★★ — Karen & Allen Tesser, July 2017**

> Wow! We just finished a total remodel of our master bathroom and couldn't be any happier with the job Tanya and Jeff did for us. They were both very professional and always responsive to our questions and needs. The workmen they used were all terrific and everyone made an effort to do a good job. The job was completed in the time frame told to us. I would highly recommend them. We love our new bathroom!

> Been working with Tanya and Jeff for over 10 years, returning to them again and again as we take on more home styling projects. They are not just talented, but quickly learned our style preferences and budget.

> Their attention to detail cannot be underestimated. They make sure each texture, hue, finish and angle are not just beautiful, but functional. They put heart, soul and creative mind into everything they do!

**★★★★★ — Terry Onica, Feb. 2017**

> Tanya and Jeff are the best. I love them as a team. They are just a pleasure to work with! Tanya is tremendously talented with her design. They have almost redone my whole condo. I keep asking them back for more! They also work within your budget, which I really appreciate. If you are considering updating your home, you should consider using them.

**★★★★★ — Jake Leider, Feb. 2017**

> Tanya and Jeff have great attention to detail and an amazing eye for design! I highly recommend working with them in any capacity you are able to! 5 stars!!

**★★★★★ — R K, Feb. 2017**

> Tonya and Jeff were recommended through a friend that is in the construction business. When we met, we explained what we wanted done and what our budget was. They were very open to our ideas. As the project continued,( redecorating our new house to our taste). Tonya offerred us many selections within our budget. She also showed us other ideas using different materials that we didn't know were possible. I didn't need to worry about Trades People coming and finishing their work. Tonyas staff was efficient, fun, and extremely honest. Even though we ended up doubling our budget, we couldn't be happier with the final project.

**★★★★★ — karrepickens, Feb. 2017**

> Tanya and Jeff are amazing designers who are dedicated professionals. We were extremely satisfied with their work in every way.

 - Description: A 117-square foot constricted galley kitchen becomes part of the house by removing one load-bearing wall. This couple loves their small ranch and neighborhood, so they were willing to spend a little extra to have exactly what they wanted: vintage meets contemporary. A single wall (housing an unworkable pocket door from the ‘50s) was removed, which exposed a header. The sagging dining room ceiling demonstrated that the existing header wasn’t doing its job. A larger header was installed with a sup…

 - Description: When a family of two adults and two young teens has only one 43-square foot bathroom to share – and it hasn’t been updated since the ‘50’s – some creative design reimagining is in order. Essentially Jack-and-Jill style, the bathroom has two doors. One serves the master suite which includes the bedroom, walk-through closet, and meditation room, a unique feature for a Buddhist family. The other door allows access from the house through a common hallway. Extending the bathroom into the walk-through…

 - Location: Ferndale, MI
 - Photos: 3
 - Description: Among all the problems with this 1941 bungalow bathroom, one of the client’s main concerns was to get rid of the lighthouse wallpaper border! At a mere 34 square foot, this tiny bath struggled to meet minimal code requirements let alone be functional. Given that the bathroom was flanked by two bedroom closets we had room to rearrange and steal space. The toilet stack was located right behind the existing toilet so we converted that area to a hallway accessible linen closet. The toilet was moved…

 - Location: Grosse Ile, MI

 - Description: Too much versus too little was the greatest challenge proposed to us by this 20 square foot powder room. Other than the faux wood porcelain plank which covers the home’s main floor, our canvas was bare. The wavy Modular Arts paneled wall is the scene stealer here. The wave crests seem to dissipate away from the LED lighting mounted on the back of the wall to wall mirror. A complementary flume faucet sends out water in a wide wave. The cinnamon stained vanity and end panels of the mirror add some…

 - Location: Bloomfield Hills, MI
 - Photos: 3
 - Description: Simple, yet creative: that was the goal for this art-loving client’s powder room. The aesthetic was achieved by crafting a Soho loft vibe with mixed materials, black accents, and Edison-style, laser-etched crystal bulbs. Circular shapes emerged as a recurring theme, beginning with the handmade paper art specified for the space, extending to the light pendants, and culminating in the visually arresting sink. It appears as though the sink is pierced through the leathered matrix granite counter, bu…

 - Location: Clawson, MI
 - Photos: 4
 - Description: In this home, the bathroom consisted of two spaces: a water closet with a shower and another room separated by a door containing the tub, sink, and vanity. To turn this ordinary bathroom into a sophisticated space ideal for both relaxation and glamour, the biggest change was to merge the spaces. Although there is a decent amount of square footage, the space itself is not actually that large. The first task after taking down the wall between the spaces was to flip things around. The former water…

 - Location: Huntington Woods, MI
 - Photos: 5
 - Description: This customer had an existing grey 4x4 mudcap installation. When she finally decided to invest in a remodel, she expressed that she wanted her new master bath to be functional, adult, and contemporary. The old bathroom was set up galley style, vanity, toilet, and outdated linen on the left, makeup area and tub on the right. This created a long narrow walkway right up the middle. By moving the tub to the back wall and floating the vanity and makeup counter, we were able to visually give the floor…

 - Description: Winner! 2016 NKBA National Best Bath During the course of building their new home, the client is not satisfied with the original architectural layout. It includes 2 separate vanities across the room from each other, 2 separate water closets, an obtrusive penninsula tub deck in the middle of the room, and a small shower out of scale with the rest of this 260 square foot master bath. The builder charges exorbitant fees to go outside their original plan. The best course of action is to build the ba…

 - Description: Masculine, cool, and chic best describes this bungalow bath remodel. Not quite 50 shades of gray. But gray is the neutral here. It took just over ten 24 inch tiles to cover the floor. A slightly lighter grout reveals the perfection and beauty of Italian rectified porcelain. The mosaic on the vanity wall adds a dramatic backdrop. The addition of a wood wainscot molding creates the perfect separation of the glass and the large plank format porcelain beneath it. - Description: For this lakeside home, the clients envisioned a crisp monochromatic coastal scheme. Outfitted with ocean-swept hues of creamy colors and white-on-white patterns, this aesthetic pulls in the organic elements of the surroundings. The large corner shower with a linear drain makes the best use of space. Next to the shower, the shiplap wall backdrop and porcelain plank floor build on the coastal theme, with beach pebbles for the freestanding tub to sit on. Custom cabinetry was built to fulfill the c…

 - Description: The clients knew they wanted to build on their home’s overall coastal vibe with their freshly remodeled bathrooms. The goal for this particular bathroom was to keep the space masculine yet not heavy, a modern take on coastal. This was in part accomplished chromatically through the use of mid-range tones; the atmosphere is neither light nor dark, but a masculine neutral. Opening up the layout was central to this project. The vanity was originally in a different location, across from the shower ra…

 - Location: Royal Oak, MI

 - Description: Ahh… the classic Royal Oak bungalow. One full bath to service the entire family upstairs and a small powder room off the foyer downstairs. Luckily this couple are empty nesters whose family bath has now become a master bath to serve the needs of only two. With aging in place in mind, we replaced the original freestanding cast iron tub and wrap around shower curtain with a modern soaking tub. Turning the tub 90 degrees and centering it on the back wall allowed us to utilize every bit of 53 square…

 - Location: Troy, MI

 - Description: Like a finely tailored pin striped suit, this 93 square foot master bath is all about the lines. Coordinated product, all with a directional pattern, creates the theme for this room. Using various shades of gray might seem drab, but a large window surrounded by Glacier White Ledge stone allows plenty of natural light and acts as a backdrop for the rest of the room. The Anatolia Amelia 12x24 porcelain tile, Mist used on the floor and Smoke on the walls, has striations which resembles limestone. I…

## Community Q&A

**Q: Beam me up scotty project** *(in Photo Questions)*

What is the manufacturer of the hinged shower door?

A: The hinged shower door was manufactured locally by our glass supplier.
The pivoting hinge is a product of C.R. Laurence Company. Thanks for the inquiry.

**Q: Shower and floor tile** *(in Photo Questions)*

What brands of tile did you use for the flooring and large format tile in the shower?

A: The wall tile is Caesar Wide. Color is Vapor. Size is 12x24.
The shower floor glass is from Lunada Bay.

**Q: I also love the tile....is it from Porcelanosa?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: This is Pure White Matte Sublime 12x36 from Cercan Tile. It may be private labeled from another manufacturer but I'm not sure.

**Q: How is the glass fixed to the floor?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Can you please tell me how the shower glass is fixed to the wall and to the floor? I don't see any anchors or other hardware used.

A: On the upper part we created a slot in the tile work to replace the standard metal frame. On the face of the bench, only the decorative liner is slotted. The glass just rests on the stone sills and is siliconed.

**Q: floor tile** *(in Photo Questions)*

i would appreciate it so much if you could give me the name of the floor and wall tile and mosaic. Is it porcelain? Thanks. Kathy

A: Hi Kathy,
The floor and wall tiles are stone. It is Light Travertine marble with a chiseled edge.
As for the mosaic, it is from Sonoma Tile Makers in California from their Mosuprema series. I used 1"x1" mosaics from their Tantrum glass series in Pewter and Moondance to create the custom blend.
Thanks for asking! Tanya

**Q: Backsplash** *(in Photo Questions)*

What color is that backsplash? And where is it from? It's beautiful!

A: This glass mosaic is from Italy. The company is Casa Dolce Casa; the series is Casamood Vetro Chroma, Color is Mosto. We also used this glass in the back of the niche in our "Clean and Simple" bathroom project. Color was great too, it was Silver Lux.
This glass was special ordered from Virginia Tile in Farmington, MI
