Thanks. A: The paint colors are Sherwin Williams: Walls are SW7527 Nantucket Dune, and bead board and trims are SW7006 Extra White. \#sherwinwilliams **Q: What's the countertop?** *(in Photo Questions)* A: This countertop is custom made with recycled glass and oyster shells! **Q: Would u return these 2 chairs?** *(in Design Dilemma)* I special ordered 2 matching accent chairs, and waited 8 weeks for them to arrive. After they arrived I noticed that the tufting is off; higher on one chair than the other. It's very noticeable to me, but It is in my nature not to make a fuss. Should I ask to return and reorder them? A: Return them. **Q: Need help with our kitchen** *(in Design Dilemma)* We are currently in the midst of making some change to our kitchen. Cabinets are relatively new and in good condition but we are uncertain about how to paint kitchen because of their light color. Hubby wants to change cabinet color but I think he dislikes them so much because the kitchen has no color pop. I think they can work if we make some good choices with wall colors and back splash. Please advise. Painters come in 6 days!!! A: Considering the arts and crafts style of your home and the earthy tones of your floor and countertop, combined with the warm, organic wood grain in your cabinets, I'd go with the "Honed Vitality" palette in Sherwin Williams 2013 colors. Specifically, "Safari", "Wickerwork", or "Spiced Cider", would complement the warm tones of your existing materials. In choosing, take into consideration the colors in the adjacent spaces. Don't go too light, more contrast would be nice. Also, consider using a slate tile on the backsplash to further enhance the look. I always suggest putting at least a 2ft x 2ft sample on the wall and look at it in the daytime and at night, as the lighting makes a huge difference. And go with an eggshell or satin finish vs. flat, for durability. **Q: Paint mirror frame?** *(in Design Dilemma)* I have this mirror and would like to make use of it but I think the current silver-colored frame does not match my wall colors, thinking of changing the frame color to a rustic brown but not sure it will turn out good. I have difficulty seeing how it would turn out and i know houzz folks can help me. Also how do you actually paint this? Spray paint? Or prime and paint? A: I would use Annie Sloan's Chalk Paint, which needs no sanding or priming! Easy to work with and clean up. **Q: Still looks empty and not satisfied.** *(in Design Dilemma)* Just did some new makeover in my family room but still not satisfied on how bare they still look especially the wall and the windows any ideas are welcomed Cathy (oakville Canada) A: Much improved from where you started! I'd still add drapery panels and shelves on either side of tv or larger media cabinet. I don't mind the coffee table but it looks like it needs to be closer to the sofa vs, centered in the room. I also agree with a sofa table behind the floating sofa. And I actually like the clock leaning instead of hung on the wall - more current and casual.
