(2) Integrity. Garrett and his team have the highest integrity. He wants to build a great product that his customers will love. I felt that Garrett had our best interest in mind behind each decision. He stands by his work and his word. (3). Communication. Garrett communicates well and in a timely manner. He listened to and understood what was important to us, which was an energy efficient home. Focus on quality of the engineering - Garrett cares about all of the little things. Some that you can see (immaculate stonework) and some that you cannot see like engineered floor trusses and special-rough plumbing joints that alert you to leaks. He is always learning about the latest building technology and applies it to the homes that he builds. > 2\. Green focus - We met many high-end Wellesley builders and Garrett was the only builder that had worked extensively with GeoThermal, Solar, and other green building techniques. He has the right team to implement and he knows how the systems work. We are so happy with our new GeoThermal system and the savings are already evident! > 3\. Responsiveness - Garrett is picky about his customers and only takes on a limited number of projects. This allows him to really focus on making sure that he is explaining every step of the project to you and working to meet your building and design objectives. > 4\. Quality of sub-contractors - A contractor is only as good as his subs and Garrett's subs are the best! They have all worked with him for a long time and are loyal because he treats them well. They are easy to talk to about the project and it feels like an integrated building experience. > 5\. Finally - cost. Garrett's approach to building is very fair and although he might not be the cheapest (he uses top materials and does high-end construction) he is not nearly as expensive as some of the other builders that we met with. Throughout the project we felt like we were given reasonable cost trade-offs and when we went over budget (which we did frequently) we did it with full knowledge of what we were getting for the extra money. > > Overall an amazing and educational experience and we would highly recommend to anyone! Yet Garrett exceeded our expectations and completed the build nearly on-time to the original schedule, and within budget. He worked closely with the architect to ensure every element of the house was just right, and he also welcomed our frequent visits to the site to provide our own input and guidance – one of our fond memories was Garrett and his team welcoming us and a friend on a lunch break around our future kitchen island (just a plywood table at the time). He even solved the nasty groundwater problem by designing and installing an intricate drainage system – we have not had a drop of water in the basement since moving in.
