## Reviews

**Overall rating: 5.0 out of 5 — 12 reviews**

### All 12 reviews

**★★★★★ — Anne Guest, Dec. 2017**

> In January of 2016, a 75-year-old internal shower valve failed causing extensive water damage to a second floor bathroom and the kitchen below. It was immediately apparent that I was facing a total replacement of the kitchen and was truly overwhelmed.
> My General Contractor, Paul Snyder of Great Spaces Inc., referred me to Robert at Boyce Lumber to design the kitchen. After our first meeting, I knew we would work well together. Robert’s knowledge and years of experience gave me confidence that he would do an outstanding job. Knowing this and having a clean slate to work with, I created a vision.
> However, it was obvious that there were significant challenges. Matching the high quality of construction and design of the rest of the house was one challenge. Blending the adjacent Butler Pantry and laundry area to create a more functional and esthetically pleasing greater kitchen area was another.
> Robert was the perfect fit for meeting these challenges. His appreciation for the historic character of the house and his attention to detail were extremely valuable. We also worked with Carole Cummings, Function First Home Planning, whose expertise brought another level of support and compliment to the project.
> It was obvious that Robert took personal pride to ensure a great outcome which resulted in a kitchen that far exceeded my vision and expectations.
> Thank you Robert for a job extremely well done!

**Comment from Boyce Lumber & Design Center:**

> Thank you Anne for your review! It has been a pleasure seeing you in our showroom throughout your remodel process. We are pleased your vision became a reality for you to enjoy!

**★★★★★ — Shonna Rhein, Nov. 2016**

> Beautiful professionalism from start to finish with everyone on Boyce Lumber & Design Center's team. I have loved working with them and making magic happen on a variety of projects. The best part is the collaboration of experience. You always know if there is a snag, because in every job there is always at least one, they work beautifully together to finish the job professionally. I suggest them to clients in need of their services whenever possible.

**Comment from Boyce Lumber & Design Center:**

He was accessible to us, did wonderful work and we had many pretty samples and products to select from - cabinets, countertops, hardware etc. We have moved in now and are very happy with our new kitchen and master bath.

> Logan Stark kitchen design specialist at Boyce Lumber And Design Center, Missoula Montana is a professional with attention to detail and acute professional service. Logan was apart of our home remodel for one year. The master bath cabinets are her design. The kitchen was the last of the home and we knew the existing was not working she completely transformed my space and it is absolutely beautiful. She makes the process fun and I would have her in a heartbeat on any home remodel. I could not be more happy with the end result.

**Comment from Boyce Lumber & Design Center:**

> Thank you so much, Janel! We have loved working with you and look forward to working with you again!

**★★★★★ — adinapagel, Aug. 2015**

> The cadre of professionals who worked on this project, beginning with Robert and the crew at Boyce Lumber, did an excellent job with our kitchen remodel. Thanks to the cabinet installer, contractor and his crew, flooring, plumbers, etc. for competing our new beautiful modern kitchen. They brought my vision to reality.

**Comment from Boyce Lumber & Design Center:**

> Thank you so much, Adina! We are thrilled that you love your new kitchen!

**★★★★★ — Brad Cloud, June 2015**

> I love this place and have been going there for years. I think I've learned a bit about design from their floor examples. Recently, I built a home and received quite a bit of help from them. Jesse not only helped me find the doors, flooring, windows, siding, hardware, etc. for my project but even gave me some ideas that saved me money and improved the results. They consistently delivered products on time (and even early many times). I love my new home and couldn't have done it without the Boyce Lumber gang.

**Comment from Boyce Lumber & Design Center:**

> Thank you so much for your kind words! We look forward to helping you more with whatever projects you may have at any time. Have a wonderful day!

**★★★★★ — rellimmit1, Aug. 2014**

> Joan Crall at Boyce Lumber and Design Center has guided me during the building of two homes – she is outstanding. Joan works creatively and professionally to design cabinetry in kitchens and bathrooms. Due of her level of experience, Joan is able to make helpful suggestions during the planning process, which make beautiful cabinetry functional and within my budget. Instead of becoming stressful endeavors, working with Joan made the projects enjoyable.

**Comment from Boyce Lumber & Design Center:**

> Thank you so much for your review! It has been our pleasure to work with you; and Joan is especially touched by and appreciative of your kind words. Have a wonderful day!

**★★★★★ — Trappings Studio, Aug. 2014**

> I am an interior designer and I have worked with Boyce on many different projects. I am always impressed with the level of professionalism, creativity and client satisfaction that they consistently provide. Both Logan and Joan are extremely helpful, well-qualified and knowledgeable about all of Boyce's product lines.
>
> I worked with Logan on my own home remodel and I am thrilled with the result. Logan was able to help me realize my very specific vision down to the last detail, even down to the custom color and stainless steel inserts that we formulated for the bathroom cabinets. She was able to provide me with computerized architectural drawings that showed the exact design and scale for my review prior to placing the order.
>
> We had a lot of fun coming up with unique, creative ideas. As an interior designer it is very refreshing to work with someone who loves and understands design just as much as I do. She is always willing to entertain any new ideas and loves to be on the leading edge of new design concepts.

**Comment from Boyce Lumber & Design Center:**

> Thank you so much for your incredibly kind words! We love working with you and look forward to many more inspirational projects in the future. Have a wonderful day and thank you again!

**★★★★★ — dwmaas, Feb. 2014**

**Comment from Boyce Lumber & Design Center:**

> Thank you so much for your kind words! We truly appreciate it, as do our subcontractors. Thank you again and have a wonderful day!

## Community Q&A

**Q: Kitchen Backsplash! where is it from?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Trappings Studio ! Thanks for asking

**Q: subway tile grout advice needed!!** *(in Design Dilemma)*

i am going to do our bathroom walls with a light grey subway tile. what grout can i use to make sure the grout doesnt get super dirty over time? something easy to clean? what grout color would work aside from white? any special way to set subway tiles do i need to specify to our contractor to set as close as possible to minimze the grout? is there a grout brand that is really good and easy to keep clean?

A: Absolutely - there are pre-sealed grouts that you can select from - and many, many colors of grout that you can choose from as well. Take your samples in and hold up the grout samples to the rest - and best of luck to you!

**Q: Blue tile Color ID???** *(in Design Dilemma)*

We like the tile but can't find and probably can't afford it. So instead we'd like to incorporate the color scheme. Suggestions for matching the BLUE in the tile with a Sherwin William paint color or wood satin. This will be the color of our lower cabinets. Thanks!

A: If you take the photo in, there is a chance the paint place can color-match - it's worth a shot - it's a very indigo shade of blue for sure - lovely!

**Q: Fireplace facelift** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I don't like the plain old brick fireplace in my den. It makes the room look very dark. I'm thinking of doing a mortar wash to brighten it up. I live in MD, who could I hire to do this for me or help me?

A: A professional painter would be a start - if you need help working on the color choices, you could hire an interior decorator.

**Q: New life for an old bathroom** *(in Before & After)*

This was the original bathroom, built in 1947, but had been partially renovated in the 60's. In trying to minimize costs, my husband did all of the demolition, installed the tub, added the shower (never had one in this bathroom) upgraded studs where needed, jacked up the floor, installed lighting and electrical and finished off the plumbing. The footprint of the bathroom could not be changed. Pictures were taken before hanging the curved shower rod and white curtain.

A: Very nice! I love what you did with the space!

**Q: Lakeside cabin/house** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Open concept, need help with living room, what furniture to buy and placement. Starting from scratch.

A: As there are thousands of ways Open concept can be taken...size of the room, walls, etc., where the windows and doors are - I suggest you contact a local designer who can help with all of this. Consider an interior designer a "one-stop-shop" for what you're asking for. They can help with the furniture and placement, colors, rugs, lighting, any cabinetry (entertainment center, bookshelves), etc. We could be making suggestions for a 10x10 room or we could be making suggestions for a room that's more of a great room and far larger. Furniture that's too large or small for the space won't do you any good at all!
Good luck!
