Want to use Armstrong Alterna vinyl tile floor. How would dark floor look? Also countertop color ( not decided on material). I am design and color coordinating deficient! So stressed. Thanks for any help! A: The first thing I would do, if you can handle it, is take down the upper cabinet and open up the space. It is visually cutting off everything. **Q: Where should we put the couch or tv?** *(in Design Dilemma)* Hey everyone!! I have a little design dilemma. We want to get a sectional but don't know where to put it. Should we move the tv above the fireplace or leave it where it is? Our living room design is very odd and confusing.... A: This furniture placement is breaking up the room and taking away from the fireplace which is usually a focal point. If that TV is to big for the living area try using a spare bedroom if you have one. **Q: More color suggestions.** *(in Design Dilemma)* I am looking for some suggestions as to what color to paint the walls of the downstairs rec room in order to match the furniture. It has one window and pot lights in the ceiling so the room needs to be brighened up quite a bit. The ceilings will be white. A: If you paint that wall blue you will lock yourself into a cold looking room and it will not be a gain. Just my opinion. If you paint in any color it must have some reason to be there................. Sorry, you asked for ideas! **Q: Do you own a pond? If so, do you have fish? What kind?** *(in Polls)* Many clients of ours started out saying that they didn't want to own fish. They didn't want to have to take care of them, feeding or having someone to watch over them when they vacationed. Did you know that fish are a big part of the ecosystem for a pond? Fish, fertilize aquatic plantings that grow in ponds and they eat mosquitoe larvae that try to breed in water. When fish grow in size they actually help clean the pond by consuming excessive algae that grows. A: I want that sweet baby, they do the same thing here as we have feeders for all the four legged creatures. I want to chime in here and also say that ponds do NOT freeze solid unless that are very shallow and that is not good for Koi. If your pond does have a surface frost your fish still need to get air so you will have to do something to open up a spot, or several spots. Please read this carefully. DO NOT EVER USE A HAMMER OR ANY OBJECT TO BREAK ICE. If you do this you will break their eardrums. What we use is a hot pot of water and let the heat melt the ice. Enjoy your ponds and fish and deer and anything that happens to enjoy what you created. **Q: Love ur advice, what would u put behind couch and would love any and all** *(in Design Dilemma)* Comments and criticisms on this room! We just ripped up carpet and put down laminate (not huge fan). New couches, new curtains (too sheer can't even see patten) and am stuck as to what to put behind couch on wall..thanks all!!! A: The lamp is way to small for the scale of room and furniture and whomever said to invest in other window coverings was right on. **Q: What is the finish for the walls? Stain?
