> Maddalena provided holiday decorating that made the small dining room look like a vignette from a villa in Tuscany. Extraordinary design skill and attention to detail. Put in extra time and effort, both on the job and answering phone calls to provide recommendations. Seen award-winning renovation work and expect to hire for major renovation beginning of next year.

> Shirley and Katie listened carefully to our needs, then created beautiful spaces that perfectly meet them -- and they are fun professionals to work with, too! Shirley's extensive experience, deep knowledge of interior design and the very best vendors, and thoughtful creativity led to spaces that exceeded our expectations. It's one thing to have a concept, and another to implement it. Shirley does both with professionalism and a refreshing flair, paying close attention to the smallest of details. We couldn't be happier with the results!

> Maddalena Design is currently helping us select colors, fixtures and finishes for our newly built home after serving as a consultant to guide our decisions on brick, stone, roofing and electrical. Shirley Maddalena is a magnificent talent in a variety of design areas and combines sophistication with practicality while being respectful of our budget. She is a joy to work with!

> Working with Shirley and Katie was super! Our new room with fireplace they created was a great vision and totally made my project! Shirley and Katie were extremely professional, timely and executed a plan that far exceeded my expectations! And perhaps best of all - they were a blast!!

> We have worked with Shirley for over twenty years and she has always surpassed our expectations with her design expertise. She is a true professional and can design any style of space. We have two homes, with very different styles, and she designed them beautifully. Our homes are functional and aesthetically pleasing and a pleasure to live in and entertain our friends. Shirley and Katie are timely, trustworthy and most of all fun to work with. Maddalena Design is highly recommended!

**★★★★★ — David Newman, July 2014**

> I am very fortunate to have contracted with Maddalena Design for the renovation of my condo. They were able to come up with an excellent design that incorporated the use of my existing furniture and art work, suggested additional pieces of furniture that fit perfectly into the "mid-century modern" theme, and they selected various vendors and a general contractor who did excellent work.
>
> Finally, the result was so impressive that the Detroit Home magazine (Spring 2014) 10th annual competition gave three awards to my condo for the design and execution.
