My old bathroom was pretty dated and there was some significant rot due to pipe leakage behind a wall. He was extremely knowledgeable about all aspects of the remodel, including removing the rot, redoing the piping, re-enforcing the floor with better materials, as well as installation of the new toilet, sink, and lighting. But he really shined when it came to the tile work. He has an excellent design eye and made great suggestions on picking out tiles and a color palette, coming up with a placement pattern, and executing the job with a very high degree of quality. He gave me as much freedom as I wanted to make design decisions but would also speak up when he thought I was making a poor choice. I really appreciated his honesty and his recommendations. In the end, I got a bathroom I'm really proud of and enjoy spending time in. He went out of his way to go shopping with me to help pick out tiles and fixtures and shopped around to help me find the best prices. I live in San Jose, CA** *(in Photo Questions)* A: I purchased the tile from a place in Santa Barbara called Tile Encounters.805 965 2228 Mike is the owner and is very helpful. Tell Mike I said to call and tell his it was for the Dorfman job. This slate is tumbled and more so like a rock. The thicknesses very a lot on the 6 x 6's. so be sure to order extra. The nice thing is that it also comes in 2 x 2 and 1 x 1 . this picture doesn't do it justice, I used a enhance and seal on everything when finished which made all the slate colors pop. The job came out beautiful. I will try and post more pic's of it finished. asap.
