> Have a geo thermal system and was having water flow problems with the return well. They created a water course that managed the flow down to the lake. There was some trouble shooting required as I did not have completed drainage plans.
>
> Also had wall grouting degenerating and repair was made as requested. And a drainage problem into the boat house was fixed with a minimal but adequate solution. They also have a carpenter on staff who dealt with some deck issues I had.
>
> Owners and staff are easy to deal with. They also provided me with recommendations for firms to solve other problems and even followed up to ensure I got attention. All in all, a happy camper.

> Parklane was willing to work with us within our budget on a 2 year plan decommissioning our inground swimming pool. Josh & Gus did a terrific job on phase 1. They worked hard and steadily. Pool bottom was broken up, and a special mixture of sand, gravel and stone was layered in, and packed down to provide drainage. There was no evidence of water pooling following more than 1/2" of rain. Looking forward to completing the final phase next year.

> I recently had a pond installed on my property as well as a new fire circle with a 2-post arbour by Parklane Landscapes, and I couldn't be happier with the results! From start to finish, their service was outstanding. The crew was professional, efficient, and clearly skilled at what they do. They worked with great attention to detail, ensuring everything was perfect. The pond turned out even better than I imagined - it's now a stunning centerpiece in my yard. The fire circle is ready for entertaining! If you're looking for top-notch landscaping services, I highly recommend Parklane Landscapes. They exceeded my expectations in every way!

> This very negative review is to educate potential customers. I presented this company with a unique goal and a set budget and the project turned out to be beyond their ability to complete satisfactorily or on budget even after major reduction of scope. They should have told me so. Instead, they frankly ripped me off. I did receive an excellent graphic design that was exciting but the execution failed on the most fundamental level. To be specific, the central feature of the plan was a figure eight shaped pathway for dogs to run and not destroy the rest of the yard. The execution of this central element failed on critical levels. Number one, the surface failed; sand was chosen and it turned out to be inadequate for heavy traffic. I did not anticipate this. It seemed substantial when installed. But it was damp. When dry it became a dust bowl. Parklane must have or should have known this. Secondly, the path was supposed to be permanent!!! But it was totally inadequately built. NOT EVEN ALL THE SOD WAS REMOVED. I was told that this due to my budgetary constraints and that instead of digging out all sod, much of it would be "tousled". That is to say, roughed up and covered with sand. I foolishly believed that once covered in sand the underlying remaining sod would die. Why else would they do that? well, it did not die. Parklane knew this but they did it anyway. The result was a classic contractor ripoff. Upon "completion" in late fall it looked great. Then came winter. Now in June the path is already disappearing fast from overgrowth from the living sod slightly buried in sand. Parklane knows what a mess they made of that part of the project. They have seen it. On a recent visit, a Parklane employee said "you can let it go back to lawn". Seriously that is what she said. PS she didn't offer to refund any money. That path might as well not have been done at all. Parklane took $20,000 from me and built me a temporary sand path. What did they do right? well they properly underlaid and installed two edged areas of gravel, and brought in 4 landscape boulders. That's it, baby. Not exactly value for money.
> I don't know what they were thinking but doing that path so poorly was possibly worse than not doing it at all. As it is disappearing after only a few months, it was a waste of time and money. It will cost more time and money to fix -- and I certainly won't be approaching them for that.
> Bottom line: i think clients of this company better have DEEP pockets and money to burn. Secondly, don't challenge them with projects "outside the box". Thirdly, make sure you acquire expertise on what you want done and don't rely on this outfit to supply it.
> I will say that the people who came on site to work were sweet and young and friendly and enthusiastic and did what no doubt they were told to do. Unfortunately much of what they were told to do was just wrong. The project manager is totally at fault on this one. I am now very disappointed and a little angry.

**Comment from Parklane Landscapes:**

> Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We feel horrible that you’ve been left feeling disappointed, as our goal is always to create outdoor spaces that enrich lives and reflect our clients’ vision.
>
> Your project was a unique and imaginative one, and we were excited to take it on. We worked closely with you to shape your design within the parameters of a limited budget, which required some compromise on materials and methods. For example, you specifically requested that we avoid using rock or mulch, and due to budget constraints, the full removal of sod in the figure-eight path was not feasible. You had also indicated that your dogs were on the way to removing the grass naturally, which led to our suggestion of tousling rather than removing the sod entirely.
>
> When we visited the site this spring and saw that the dogs weren’t using the space as expected, we offered several cost-effective solutions—including reintroducing grass in low-use areas, adding obstacles like rock to encourage engagement, or using vinegar to help suppress regrowth. These ideas were presented with the intent to help adapt the space without adding unnecessary cost.
>
> As discussed pre-construction, you are absolutely right that sand has its limitations, it was chosen as a compromise to help meet your wish list and aesthetic goals within budget, and we acknowledge now that it may not have been the best long-term solution for your particular needs.
>
> We take full responsibility for any misalignment between expectations and final results. Our intent was never to mislead, but to maximize value where possible. We deeply regret that this process has left you feeling let down and frustrated.
>
> Your comments will be used internally to improve how we guide clients through budget and material decisions, particularly on unconventional or budget-sensitive projects. We’re glad to hear that you enjoyed working with our team on-site and that some elements of the design and installation did meet expectations.
>
> We remain committed to learning from this and are grateful for the opportunity to reflect and grow. Jennifer will be reaching out to you this afternoon.

> We had major water issues on our back wall. The problem is water runs downhill against the house. Because the block footings were below grade, water would hit the back wall and wick up, rotting the floor joists , sill and beams. Parklane came up with a beautiful and sustainable solution. From Cassy (owner) to Joanne (designer), to Justin (site supervisor), to Martin (deck builder), to Gus and drivers. All were professional and great to work with. They went the extra mile providing a walkway at no additional cost. We now have an extra deck with beautiful landscaping. We highly recommend Parklane for any landscaping needs. Thank you Parklane.

> Recently, a storm water management feature installed beside my 113 year old home. Older homes are vulnerable to the water that flows from so many paved surfaces. My new feature is keeping the basement dry. It improves the appearance at that side of the home in an attractive and functional way. A parking pad and a clean walkway of large slabs to access the back entrance to the house have been created on top of the storm water management feature. The PARKLANE crew are competent and accommodating. They are educated and skilled in landscape techniques. It is reassuring to work with people who know design, hardscape materials and plants. My hope is to extend the new walkway, connecting it to a proposed new patio behind the house, where we can enjoy lunch, outdoor visits, watch birds and butterflies, surrounding gardens, while relishing the view of the large backyard and its mature trees.

> Parklane Landscapes was retained to create and implement a three year landscaping redesign of the Stonedale Placeway townhouse complex in Toronto. The first phase of the design was finished this spring and we are extremely happy with the results. Parklane Landscapes created a beautiful design that updated the entire complex. They ensured that something would be in bloom from early spring through to late fall with added winter interest. Their team onsite were friendly and punctual. They worked extremely hard and finished the first phase in record time. Throughout the removals, regrading and replanting we were very impressed that the Parkland team cleaned up each night leaving the site tidy for residents.
> I would highly recommend Parkland Landscapes for both residential and commercial work.
> Laurie Simmonds

> Kimberley has been excellent in attending to our garden on Balsam Lake. She has been very attentive to our needs and has been available for any of our requests. She has been helpful in giving advice as to planting, flowers that are appropriate for the various areas and general care of our gardens. She has been very pleasant to work with.

> Great people! Super knowledgeable and attentive. Parklane executed all my garden projects within budget and also helped me understand the limitations of my garden. The staff at Parklane gladly incorporated some of my ideas, and enhanced them to ensure that they were realistic and long lasting. My garden was spectacular after they finished. They also drew up excellent printed plans labeling all the plants and trees on the property which, is enormously helpful for reference and for adding to the design. I would highly recommend Parklane.
