By the time Russ Waldrop was on his way to Oregon he had built careers as a high school teacher and archeologist in Peru. He was picking up a load of large timbers for the house he was planning to build near the Gaviota Coast. His dreams of a "green" home with big timbers, a sod roof and a sustainable power source have materialized with the grace, craftsmanship and natural beauty worthy of the spectacular view.

That trip to Oregon brought subsequent requests from friends of friends wanting the same quality timbers. In need of a place to park a load for a while, he found a spot along the 101. Now known as Pacific Timber Products.
Whether nourishing Santa Barbara Heirloom Nursery, the largest collection of Certified Organically Grown Heirloom Seedlings in the world (for its time), or with Jim Schrodek, harvesting a crop of fine building materials, Russ Waldrop has made his mark upon the Santa Barbara landscape.

Jim has been with Russ for over 20 years.Jim treats your project much like a fine Pinot. He gives constant care and attention. Only somebody who really takes the time to understand Pinot's potential can then coax it into its fullest expression. Your project is Jim's Pinot!

The many architects, builders and homeowners over the past 25 years, can attest to the comfortable climate Pacific Timber Products has provided to this historic coastal community. The line of building materials and science of craftsmanship offered by Jim and Russ has been honed by the vast experience coastal life can bring to those with a lay of the land and a set of blue prints. 
The once niche lumber shop now offers lines designed to complement the Santa Barbara climate and its inhabitants quite beautifully. Whether you are building a custom home, or preserving a Santa Barbara treasure, Pacific Timber Products is dedicated to your spectacular view!
