**Q: Living Room Design Dilema** *(in Home Decorating)*

Hello Everyone
I recently moved into my new home and started the design process in my Living Room.
I purchased some cute pieces, installed barn doors and then got stuck.  The barn doors leds to the guest bathroom and guest rooms.
I tried two options:
1\. placing accent chairs on either side of the barn doors, but then left the wall empty?
2\. placing accent chairs across the couch but then looked like a doctors waiting area

I am sure I can add other furniture, accessories but still have no idea which way would look the best.

A: There are a few issues here that everyone has touched on a little bit: 1. circulation (maneuvering around the area in a way that is a clear passageway for people using the space), 2. layout proximity (the distance between the chairs and your sofa seem far apart from one another, making it difficult for people to converse and simultaneously making it difficult for people to walk through), 3. lack of coziness/too formal (current layout is too stiff and feels like a waiting room because the seating is too far apart and the furniture is bulky and square). I've attached an option I'd like you to consider that may remedy these issues. The goal here is to create a space that is inviting, while still maintaining a clear path for people to walk through. I'm not sure how attached you are to having two of the same chairs, but it would be ideal to have one lounge chair with an ottoman instead of the box-y chairs, in my opinion, as it would open the space up more visually.

A: Fearless uses of color and pattern! Modern-luxe and european styles are overtaking the country living and minimalist mainstream that has been around for years. The newest trends are about mixing luxurious fabrics, metal accents, and beautiful artistic motifs to create chic spaces that really make a statement. It's very refreshing to see clients starting to ask for that Parisian look I hold  near and dear to my heart. It's definitely an exciting time to be designing!
