Q: How to make this on an existing Ikea cabinet? A: pocket door cabinets are more complex types of cabinets. Depending on your cabinets from ikea im not sure to tell you how you can go about and doing it. in order to make a pocket door that will actually work you will need the doors to be smaller in width and height so they can actually slide into the cabinet. the excess gaps you will have must have filler pieces, same color as your doors. Also their is special hardware you must purchase. **Q: Bead board and trim island questions....** *(in Design Dilemma)* I'm looking at designing my island like the the bead board island in the bottom of this photo. How thick do you feel the vertical and horizontal trim pieces should be to look good? Any recommendations for what time of wood to get for this or where to buy it?. I will be painting it? How thick is the bead board typically and is there a 'style' or 'type' of bead board that tends to look best? Do you think this type of bead board island will get dated quickly or is it kinda a "timeless" look? A: the trim should be at least 4" wide. because you will need to put an electric outlet by code depending on your state. It also looks more impressive when you make the trim wider. If you are going to paint the island - Home depot sells beadboard 3/8 thick. beadboard is definitely NOT timeless. if you are planing to sell house down the line than i recomend going with flat stock. **Q: Looking to get an oven hood covered in reclaimed wood installed.** *(in Design Dilemma)* We are looking to get a quote for having an oven hood installed in our kitchen. And would love any professionals you might recommend. We would like the hood to be covered in reclaimed or rustic wood to match the look of the open rustic wooden shelves we already have. We would like recommendations of a good wine refrigerator that isn't too expensive. We were recommended a Summit 24" Dual Zone SWC530LBIST, however I am reading mixed reviews.
