I recently moved from a very small house after 24 years. I did not have much to work with apart from furniture and some personal items. I asked her to focus her efforts on six rooms and my foyer.She looked at what I already owned and got a sense of my style. I gave her money up front and she went to work choosing paint, buying décor, etc... I could not be happier and I have had numerous compliments on the results. I am amazed how she was able to determine what I liked just by looking around the house. I could not be happier with the expenditure. It was well worth her fees because I know I would have spent more time and money trying to figure things out. She worked within the budget I set and it was more or less correct except for the cost of contractors. Nevertheless, all of the work was of very high quality and worth the expense. She has an excellent eye for décor and I would hire her again. She worked with me on developing a sense of what I wanted and what I would be comfortable with, and came up with ideas that I never could have imagined on my own. I love that her ideas are so unique. I can honestly say that every single person that came to my home and saw that nursery was awestruck, and said they had never seen a nursery so cool before. I entered the nursery into an online photo contest, and soon enough it was popping up all over pinterest. I couldn't believe I actually has a pinterest-worthy room in my home. The room was colorful and vibrant, perfectly for stimulating baby's senses, while also being very functional. Probably my favorite thing about the room was that it was so easy for its function to grow with my daughter. I hardly had to change a single thing as my daughter went from being an infant to a toddler to a preschooler. Chelsea was very attentive to what I needed from the nursery design, while also offering her own unique touch to help my abstract vision come to life. We are about to paint the downstairs Sherwin Williams, "amazing gray". The trim in the whole house is off-white. Most ceilings are about 13 ft. There is a coffer ceiling in the great room. It's currently a color. (before pic attached). If we paint the inside of coffer amazing gray, do we need to carry it through the house? Or should we paint the coffer white since we want to paint the other ceilings - ceiling white? A: I don't believe your ceilings need to match unless they are connected. Don't be afraid to think outside of the box and go bold! **Q: New dining room!!!** *(in Before & After)* Before and after!!! Still slightly unfinished...any suggestions are welcome!! I'd like a new floral centerpiece, a simple table runner, and something simple for each side of the mirror!! Suggestions? Thanks! A: Vast improvement! I would add open shelving to the sides of the mirror and accessorize with books and beautiful serving pieces. I agree the table needs more layers to add interest. A runner is a good start but think about adding some chargers as well. I think a low, and long centerpiece would be a better fit. Hope this helps give you some ideas! **Q: Got a living room the stretches the length of your home?** *(in Before & After)* Here we took out all the old carpeting and baseboards and custom built a dividing wall with glass doors. Installed engineered wood flooring, built up crown molding, and all white trim. Perfect now for a home office. A: Good idea! **Q: I need ideas to get the room decorated ....thank you!** *(in Before & After)* Colours , A: Add textiles! Curtains with a bold and colorful pattern will add a lot of life to the dining room. Rugs will also help to warm the space up. The living plants are a nice addition to any room, maybe add some to the living space. Brighten up those dark couches with some throw pillows and drape a throw blanket across the back. Hope this helps get you started! **Q: POLL: favorite HGTV show** *(in Polls)* What's you favorite HGTV show? A: I feel like they should change HGTV to the Real Estate Network, since that's all their shows are about anymore. Very few design based shows left. I miss Genevieve and Emily Henderson.
