It was redesigned completely and we had new pavers, deck, new lawn, lights throughout and all the new plants installed throughout the backyard. First of all, all the work was completed within a timeline that was agreed upon at the beginning and while the project was completed in 2020, I could really see how much care they put into each step. Moreover, it was a first time we had a project like this done and obviously had questions and at times some doubts along the way but Gary was very patient and made sure that all the questions are answered and we are really happy with the way it was progressing and how it came out. It's been more than 6 months already and I wanted to give it a time before writing a review to make sure that no issues came up after the project was complete and we absolutely love our backyard. I highly recommend Gary and his team and if in future we will have new needs for backyard landscape work, we definitely going back to Transformation Landscape Development. **★★★★★ — Toni Y, March 2021** > I highly recommend Gary and his team at Transformation Landscape. They transformed our "lunar landscape" of a backyard and we are thoroughly enjoying our new outdoor space! I am SO glad that we did not rush our search for the right contractor for our project. The good ones are so busy these Covid times, and I will say that Gary was definitely worth the wait. We spoke to several, and Gary's bid was the most detailed and complete compared to the other contractors we talked to. This resulted in a final cost that was fairly close to the original bid, and only changed because of some upgrades we requested during the project. He is straight-forward, organized, very responsive, welcomes open communication throughout the different phases of the project, and is very proud of his projects and stands behind his work. Every day, a crew of friendly, respectful and hardworking guys showed up, and I was impressed how they were accustomed to Covid protocols - they masked up, at the very least, had one ready to go and wore one every time we talked to them about something. > > One more thing I want to highlight - just like any other construction project, ours had hiccup or 2 along the way, but what sets Gary apart from other contractors we've dealt with in the past is his ability to listen to us and our concerns and his willingness to work out a solution that is fair to everyone instead of just putting the blame on us. We really appreciate Gary's integrity and honesty, and even though ours was a smaller project compared to others I see in his portfolio (look at his website and Instagram), he didn't treat us based on that. Prior to this project, we dreaded working with contractors again because we were still recovering from our whole house remodel. Now, we are actually looking forward to Phase 2 (our front yard) because we know it will be another fun collaboration with Gary and his team. **★★★★★ — Andy Slater, Jan. 2021** > Gary McCann started our job in late 2019 and finished in about 6 months. 1 thing slowed this job down (Covid19), but Gary was able to overcome to work at a very good pace even with the unexpected delay. We gave him a design that we did not particularly care for, but we did like the layout. He listened and understood what our vision was and rolled with it. He did a great job and I would definitely recommend him. > > MOST IMPORTANTLY, he stands behind our work. It has been over a year since we started the job and more than 6 months since he finished. We ended up noticing an issue with the pavers not draining correctly. It seemed to happen during heavy rain so we hadn't noticed it prior. He came back to fix this. His knowledge, attention to detail, and expectations are very high.
