> From start to finish, it’s such a pleasure to work with Craftsman Design and Renovation. Wade has put together a skilled team of designers, project managers, carpenters, and support staff, dedicated to making the remodeling process uncomplicated for both their homeowner clients and trade craftsman subcontractors. And, they’re all genuinely kind making it a joy to work with them! We’re truly grateful to provide the stonework for many of their projects and recommend Craftsman Design and Renovation wholeheartedly to anyone in considering a remodeling project.

**Comment from Craftsman Design and Renovation:**

> Thank you so much de la tierra! We truly appreciate your kind words. We thoroughly enjoy working with you as well and your organization, attention to detail, and craftsmanship shine through in each of our projects. Our clients are always extremely impressed with your quality of work. Thank you for all you do!

> The team at Craftsman were organized in the beginning of the project. We have had some terrible experiences with contractors in the past but Craftsman made my husband and I feel that there are companies like Craftsman who do not fall into this typical category of contractors. The team was responsive and stayed on schedule. Their lead carpenter Nate was incredible during project and ensured that while we were living in a space without a kitchen for months that we would feel as calm as possible. Their lead designer Courtney was able to provide some wonderful suggestions while still keeping with the style we wanted for the space. Suzanne was able to manage the project in an efficient way that made us feel extremely comfortable throughout the process. Every sub that came into our home were friendly and respectful of our space. There were some timeline issues due to the company that was used to install our downdraft. There were also subsequent issues with the installation that we are still dealing with. We are hoping the issues are resolved so the project can be completed to the standards that were set.

> Our home needed a facelift and some tweaks in architectural details to make the facade of our home feel more purposeful and balanced. We worked with Craftsman Design to find the right look that also fit within our budget. The design team was helpful in creating several versions of drawings to help us visualize the outcome and were very responsive to our requests at various stages in the design process. The team of craftspeople working on our home executed quality work. Overall, we were pleased with the outcome.

**Comment from Craftsman Design and Renovation:**

> Thank you for the kind words! It was wonderful working with you through design and production to find the right solution for your home. We can't wait to get some photos once spring blooms begin.

> I highly recommend Craftsman Design and Renovation for any project large or small. They were very easy to work with and whenever I had a question they were very quick to get back to me. Project area was left as clean and tidy as it could be everyday. It was a great pleasure to have them work on my remodel.

> We hired Craftsman for renovation of our kitchen, powder bath, and entire basement. The project included addition of a bathroom, seismic retrofitting, waterproofing, and replumbing, among many other things. Having heard that renovations are stressful, we were surprised to find ourselves enjoying the process from beginning to end. The reason: Craftsman made it all so easy. They were experienced, organized, meticulous, and supremely competent, able to anticipate costs with great accuracy. Despite the fact that we have an 70 year old house, there were almost no surprises for us. Moreover, the unwavering integrity, sensitivity to our wishes, brilliant design, and masterful workmanship that Craftsman brought to the project meant that we had absolutely no worries. We trusted them completely, and they did not let us down. Most importantly, we are absolutely in love with the results. Thank you, Craftsman!

> We hired CDR in 2012 and they remodeled most of our house. We spent something like $400K. They did some beautiful details and they won awards with our project. Initially, I was delighted with the remodel, but I have to be honest we've had some problems afterward that I thought they should have guaranteed. Our refrigerator panel was installed with staples and so whenever we opened the refrigerator, we were slowly separating it from the refrigerator, until it finally fell off. Also, included in the job was to restore the woodwork on the exterior of the house. There was dryrot damage in the gable that started peeling paint right away and when I asked them to repair it they sent out the painter to scrape and repaint it and the wood scraped away with the paint and they wouldn't repair the rotten wood. Had they initially scraped the wood before painting, I believe they would have found the dryrot during the job. Their painter found it within the two years that they supposedly guaranteed the job.

> Hired Craftsman for a complete remodel of a 1920s basement. Selected them based on the great amount of detail in their plans and organization. They were helpful and efficient at every step. Given my work schedule I wanted a company that I could trust (not have to check-in on or push to do things) and they were perfect. During the project they discovered some additional work (water damage) and incorporated the repair without too much stress. Most importantly, love my new basement. Would definitely hire them again.

**Comment from Craftsman Design and Renovation:**

> Thank you for the kind words! It was a pleasure working on your project and turning the basement into a space you can use and enjoy!

> Craftsman provided plans to fix a major structural problem with the porch on our 2014 year old craftsman and executed them beautifully. The project lead communicated with us clearly throughout the work and results exceeded our expectations! We will be working with Craftsman again.

**★★★★★ — Jane Knechtel, Aug. 2017**

> The project was completed on time and to my satisfaction. Concerns related to the project were addressed immediately. I enjoyed working with all the employees at Craftsman Design. This was the second remodeling project Craftsman has done for us. I am now using their handyman service for smaller projects.

**★★★★★ — Brock Design Group, March 2016**

> Brock Design Group collaborated with Craftsman Design & Renovation on a home recently. We loved how detail-oriented the staff was and how easy they were to work with. When the clients needed changes made to an original design, Craftsman Design was diligent in making sure they made it happen. It was truly a team effort with everyone focused on making sure the client was happy with the final result.

> Our project was a nine-month, whole house remodel of a 1909 Craftsman Bungalow in the Hawthorne. Our experience was stellar. On the front end, Wade provided concepts and drawings that were thoughtfully in accord with our expressed needs for light and space. Financial/budget issues were outlined up front and, while frequently addressed, never became a problem. The model that Wade uses (project manager in office and lead carpenter on site) gave us a responsive team that was constantly moving our project forward, addressing problems and new ideas as that was necessary. The number of days that Kevin (lead carpenter) spent shingling the second floor dormer in cold wind and rain is testimony to kind of commitment that was elected through both the design and construction teams.
>
> The end result is a beautiful home, full of light and color, that wonderfully reflects our tastes and honors the Craftsman tradition. Every member of the Craftsman Design team was a trusted partner in bringing us the home we envisioned.

**★★★ — janleevan, March 2016**

> Good design sense; creative; not sufficiently sensitive to cost concerns and budget; construction estimate was too high to consider. Good overall kitchen design, though.

## Community Q&A

**Q: Where are the tiles from?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Been looking for something similar, but I’m only finding them at the custom tile makers that are insanely expensive.

A: Hi Drew - it looks like this tile was from Syzygy, the finish was called Tundra.
The flower is this: https://syzygytile.com/products/4-inch-4-pointed-flower. Hope that helps!

**Q: Where did you get that green glazed terracotta tile?** *(in Photo Questions)*

We are building our new kitchen in Cedar City, Utah. I really love that tile and cannot find it. I’ve seen several like it, but nothing quite as nice. Could you direct me to your source? Absolutely love that kitchen!!

A: Hi there - thank you for your kind words! This tile is from Seneca Tiles, and we believe it is the Renaissance line.

**Q: What kind of countertop is this?** *(in Photo Questions)*

I love how bright and open the kitchen is even with the dark counter! Would love to know type and color of countertop. Is it quartzite?

A: Hi there! This countertop is Caesarstone's Lagos Blue 4350. Based on their website, that particular color has been discontinued, but a comparable color would be their Woodlands 6338. Hope this helps!

**Q: cabinet paint color** *(in Photo Questions)*

Hello
What color are these cabinets painted?

A: Hi there - the cabinet color is Benjamin Moore White Dove OC-17. Thanks!

**Q: Can you please share the paint color?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Can you please share the paint color?

A: Hi there! The paint color is Benjamin Moore AF-145 Kangroo. Cheers!

**Q: What is the countertop material, brand, color and name** *(in Photo Questions)*

I'm looking for black honed quartz countertops with a bit of texture or color creating texture, though simple and subtle. I wondered if you had any suggestions and what was used in this kitchen.

A: Hi Debra - this is Cambrian Black Granite, in a honed finish. We love it! We also love the leathered finish, which gives the stone a really nice texture.
