Debbie gave me all the time in the world to come look at fabrics and take fabric books home, until we got it just right. It was the most unorganized room in the house. I’d literally open the door to see what was in there and then close it again. It seemed I never knew where to put whatever food staple I had in my hands. The builder-grade wire racks that had been originally installed in the space just didn’t work – everything always looked messy, and there was a ton of wasted space. > > I’ve known Fred Kumpel, the owner of Strickland’s, for years, via networking in the local business community, and I trusted that he and his team could create the ideal solution. The shades works fine for blocking the sun however the fabric is light in weight and blow like a sail with the slightest breeze. The installer first gave us a choice of installing a cord to prevent the blind from blowing. He told us based on his experience we would not need the cords to secure the shade. We went with his recommendation. Turns out, we could not use the shades. Every time we used them they blew in the breeze. I went to the store to let them know how disappointed we were. They ordered the bungee cords which was supposed to take a few days. After 3 weeks I went back to the store and they miraculously appeared. No one called to let me know there was a delay or that they arrived. They charged me for the cords and didn't even agree to install then. Their attitude was surprising based on the favorable reviews in the past. As a result I will not do additional business with Strickland's or will I recommend them.. The folks at Strickland's pay attention to detail and most of all, listen to the customer. Their workmanship is impeccable. We most recently purchased kitchen blinds. I didn't notice that the window trim is an off-white. Thankfully, Chris de Jong was on top of his game as usual and the blinds fit and match perfectly. Attached is the window. All ideas are welcome. A: A great way to show off this great architectural feature is shutters with an arch! Wider width louvers will give you privacy when closed and almost unobstructed view when the louvers are open! Hunter Douglas makes several styles which will really maximize the impact of your window AND view! And if you go to their website www.hunterdouglas.com and look for the iMage Design Center, you can upload a photo and preview how various window treatments would look! Hunter Douglas also makes "Silhouette Window Shadings" which Vikrant mentioned so you can see how that would look also. **Q: HELP! My incisiveness is driving me bananas!!** *(in Design Dilemma)* I am so confused! I don't know what to do for my bedroom windows. I am torn because the kitchen has mini blinds and I thought that the exterior of a house should be uniform (i.e. if I have blinds in a few windows, I should have them in all?? Anywho, I'm bringing the blinds back that I just bought so I'm looking for ideas. I want something simple yet elegant, enough to block the light out at night, but let the light in during the day.
