> After seeing Robert Shuler's landscape design projects, we decided to ask him to do a preliminary design for our front yard. We knew from his website that he valued conservation of water and that he could create beautiful, functional gardens, but what he designed for us went far beyond our imagination. Our outdated, weed filled, front yard became what we call the best room of the house. Our flagstone patio with its half curved wall with night lighting both in the wall and around the yard has become a beautiful sanctuary surrounded by many unusual and interesting plants that don't remain static. There is always something interesting and lovely in bloom. Robert is very easy to work with and very vigilant about the ongoing construction by making sure everything is perfect. He has a tremendous eye for color and detail. Almost a year after the project, he still strolls the garden to make sure things are perfect. My husband and I highly recommend Robert.

> Hiring Robert was the best decision we made for our landscape remodel. His design, vision, and guidance from concept through construction was invaluable. To get started, Robert asked thoughtful questions about our lifestyle and preferences. Quickly he turned around a blueprint that met our needs exactly. The front fits perfectly with the historic nature of our Victorian Cottage and his design for the back transformed a modest dirt patch into a private oasis ideal for entertaining, relaxing, and simple gardening.
> At our request, he recommended several landscape contractors. Once we made our choice and construction started, Robert was available and would check-in frequently to ensure things were going as designed. His guidance during this phase was crucial.
> Robert's design also included a comprehensive drought tolerant plant list and irrigation plan. The day plants arrived, he placed each gorgeous one in its designated location in preparation for planting. He even had the landscaper exchange a plant that didn't seem as healthy as it could have been.
> When the project was done, he came by again to make sure we were pleased with the end result, and yes, it is everything (and more) that we had hoped. Thank you Robert!

> I hired Robert to design my front entry which was dead and weedy. He was specific in his choices and everything, now 6 months later, is thriving. The plan is very water wise and subtlety colorful and beautifully balanced. Also, he was extremely pleasant to work with and has come by after the initial planting to give me tips on pruning, etc.

> Bob is an outstanding professional and citizen. His innovative landscape and home improvement designs and installations have enhanced the beauty of the Monterey Peninsula Community and beyond for well over a decade. He has also been most generous in support of civic and charitable initiatives. Highly recommended.

> Robert Shuler designed my Carmel cottage landscape and hardscape. I wanted an easy to maintain garden that was also sensitive to water restrictions. I also wanted a Carmel stone outdoor fireplace and arch and gate at the entrance. I couldn't be more pleased. The landscape looks enchanting and magical. The stonework is absolutely masterful and looks like it was built at the time of the cottage, 1926. Bob is extremely easy to work with, fairly priced and a genuinely nice person. He also designed our remodeled kitchen which looks like an "old world" French one. He gets my highest rating for a job very well done.
