> It gives me great pleasure to write this review of David and James Coats and their beautiful and amazing work. From start to finish, it was a joy to work with David and James. We did a full house remodel which took ten months. From the design process all the way through to the final project David and James were patient and offered creative ideas and were creative and innovative thinkers throughout the whole process. Most of all though, I was struck by their integrity. They communicated clearly and listened well and worked through challenges with us when they came up. And their work, their final product, was really incredible. Everyone we show our remodeled home to is amazed. David and James are not just contractors, they are really artist and I found they poured a lot of heart and soul into every aspect of this project. We love our house and we really loved working with David and James. We have recommended them to all our friends. You will not be sorry if you choose to work with them.

> The Coats of Nest Design Build did pretty much a complete remodel of my house. New master suite, and complete basement redo. This included a leveling of the floor and topped w bamboo, finding and removing mold, reworking walls, putting in new basement egress window and the drainage around the house. There was a lot of exchange of ideas that were easy, and a new (small but seemed much larger at the end) master bathroom that was beautiful and some might say exotic. All of this was not easy, I've been through this 6 times before and they are the best. They are professional and do what they say they will do! I plan on hiring them again soon.

> James and David entered my home as strangers and left as family. The thought and effort these guys (and their classy, brilliant wives) put into their work blew me away. As often happens during major remodels, time and money budgets were underestimated. In this case, both were by a factor of more than 2. However, the ideas they brought to the table were just too great to pass up. While I was pulling my hair out after the 4th month of construction and the 3rd budget expansion, James and David were reassuring me that the investment would be well worth it. They kept reminding me that the space they were creating for me to live in would be a breath of fresh air every time i walked in the door. They were right.

> I have kept the space relatively sparse in terms of pictures and nicknacks, yet it manages to be one of the “homiest” spaces I have ever occupied. It has clean modern lines, but is also very warm and natural. The lighting in the kitchen and dining room is stunning. It can create plenty of working light while still remaining intimate and relaxed. The once tiny and restrictive kitchen is now a beautiful open space and the focal point of the entire house. All while taking up the same footprint it had before. Aside from the aesthetics, the internals of the house were well taken care of as well. The house has PERFECT water pressure and every circuit in the house is in tip top shape. This is truly a dream home.
>
> After two days of living in my completed house, all the anguish of the construction melted away.
>
> After two years I still walk into my home and “soak it all in.”
>
> After two years I still gush to my friends about what a pleasure it was working with Nest Design Build.

> We have hired Nest design build on two occasions. The first was to redo a bathroom that had had a serious issue. They not only did an excellent job repairing it, but also had excellent design suggestions.
> The second project was a redo of our den. Again, the work they do, the subcontractors they get, their oversight and communication are excellent. The workmanship that they personally do is also excellent. I feel that they are fairly priced and were cognizant of our checkbook. We so appreciated their work that we would hire them again and again.

## Community Q&A

**Q: Is this Kerf cabinetry? Thank you!** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Yes, they are :)

**Q: LaHummingbird** *(in Photo Questions)*

Who manufactures the back door, it's a prairie style right?

A: Yes, it is beautiful - but that door is original to the 1924 house. A little elbow grease, a little paint... Not everything needs to be new. I'm sorry I can't help more.
