They also did the surrounding pavers, etc. > > The project is now almost three years old. The company has been slow in the original construction. They over shot the time table at every stage. They are always pleasant on the phone, they always promise to fix the issues. It has taken two years to address the punch list of issues and two major problems persist. > > By the way, I believe the timetable was a sham from the beginning. I suspect they took on way more pandemic driven work than they could actually handle. They knew it but wanted to make a sale. During the construction, they fired almost everyone that we worked with at the company. At many stages the project languished from lack of company leadership. > > There are still two major open issues that I have now referred to an attorney. The first is the travertine pavers are falling apart and staining. The paving contractor insisted that the pool company failed to place the right type of sand underneath. The pool company blamed the pavers. Anywhere we walk, the pavers are deteriorating, powdering, and streaking. Big chunks of paver have broken out, White streaking is clearly not supposed to happen. Some pavers move when stepped on creating a dangerous situation. > > The other problem is that the company, I assume to save money, used a circuit breaker board with insufficient amperage. When I run the various features, the circuit pops and the pool and spa heater won't work. > > Saving dollars also came into play previously. The company sold me several water features - spa, spa waterfall, fountains (two types.) Unfortunately they didn't tell me I could only one run one feature at a time with the pump provided.How insane. I ended up having to pay them for an additional pump and to re-plumb the system. This should have been discussed at the time of contracting when I was deciding between builders based on cost, features, etc. Who would set it up that way? > > Overall, I do have a nice looking pool. Working with John during the initial design process was much easier than with other companies. He respected our budget, while simultaneously helping us envision an amazing outdoor experience for our family. Throughout the project, Scott and Jeff were incredibly helpful in keeping us on track, as well as making recommendations to improve the process, pool, patio, and landscape. All of the workers were professional and highly skilled. Ultimately, we ended up with a gorgeous outdoor space that we use every day. We have been having a problem with the ceramic tile edging falling off for the past 2 years. I’ve called numerous times in the past 2 years always with promises of a call back that never comes. This last spring I somehow got the owner of the company to stop by and access, again with a promise to work up a bid and get back to us. HAVEN’T HEARD A WORD FROM HIM, even after more calls to his office. So now my husband and I, both over 70, will have to somehow scrape all the old tile and grout off the inside edge of the pool by ourselves. That will be very difficult for us. I guess back 6 years ago Woodfield could use our business however small it was but now they’ve got bigger projects going and don’t need to fool with our small project. They did a wonderful job. After a couple years we noticed some settlement on our pool patio, with just a simple call to the office, they were responsive to our problem. They came out within 2 weeks and fixed our deck issue. If you want a company that backs up their work 100 percent, my family recommends Woodfield. Were always a phone call away if you need anything else. **★ — HU-332282039, April 2022** > Woodfield installed all the travertine decking around my pool. They also installed all of the stone around the raised pool sides. Peter would only recommended the most expensive materials. The stones are now falling off the sides of the pool and the travertine decking has been cracking and unbalanced since day one. Peter assured me that the large stones on the side of the pool are secure and the decking will settle into place. He said "don't worry, we've got you covered, you can come to us in a year, 3 years or 10 years and we will take care of it if anything happens". The stones are now literally falling off the side of the pool and the travertine is unbalanced as ever and still cracking. The decking and pool are under 3 years old. I called the office and after the employee checked with Peter, I was told that Woodfield only gives a 1 year warranty and that there is nothing they can do about any of this. Jonathan did a great job designing and working with our needs and making sure it would suit us. Austin did a great job keeping us up to date and the project moving smoothly. We did have some hiccups at the end of the project and after it finished which resulted in a 3 star review, but as of today all of my concerns have been addressed. Jonathan, Ben and the crew did a great job and even did a little extra, which I really appreciate. I have updated my rating to 5 stars to reflect the updated project. The guys doing the project were professional and artistic (you do need some semblance of artistry when laying pavers). If something was not to my liking -- they fixed it. If I had a concern -- they addressed it. Fast forward a few years and we finally got to the point where we could take care of it as a few other projects ended up taking priority. We initially reached out to our landscaper and we were fairly aghast at the quote in the proposal we received. > > After we verified that there wasn't fluff in the quote making the price higher than it needed to be, we decided to expand our search. This is when we reached out to Woodfield Landscaping. We only communicated the scope of work that we wanted and to our pleasant surprise, the job cost was significantly less expensive using the exact same materials. > > Cost was only the initial consideration. My wife and I were even happier once the work began because the project manager, Austin, and the workers was absolute professionals the entire time. Austin clearly communicated how long the job would take and they kept to that timeline impeccably. > > Once they finished, our new driveway and walkway looked amazing. Although it was not the most glamorous of projects, the finished project greatly improved the function of our walkway and driveway and significantly enhanced our curb appeal.
