Anna Carmel is originally from North Carolina but is now proud to call Portland home. She earned a BFA in Interior Design from the Savannah College of Art and Design in Georgia. During school she had internships in Miami and studied abroad in Provence, France where she gained an appreciation for the skill & hard work of the building trades. After graduating in 2006, Anna spent half a year traveling around the globe, falling in love with a diverse array of cultures, design aesthetics and principals. Her love of traveling continued across the US and she found her way to Portland in 2007. A: Yes, it was custom built and is indeed birch plywood. **Q: What kind of cupboards?** *(in Photo Questions)* Love the smooth cabinet doors and color. What brand, what finish? A: They were custom built out of baltic birch plywood, we love them and use this design often on other projects. **Q: Garage door** *(in Photo Questions)* Does garage door cause air leakage and heat gain/loss? A: Actually our climate in Portland has been quite rainy and windy as of late, a really cold spring here. I have never had any water or air intrusion but I should not comment that is is worse as I do not know for certain. I have loved the look and the operation and never think about it much until someone asks about it. I use this space as my design studio.
