A: My contractor likes to use unsanded grout so the shower floor is easier to clean as the abrasive grout attracts dirt. I have never used penny rounds on a shower floor, not sure if matte penny rounds would still work anyways with unsanded grout? **Q: POLL: If you could only paint your walls one color what would it be?** *(in Polls)* If you had to choose one color to paint your walls and never change it, what would you choose? A: LOVE PURPLE!!!! **Q: limited budget, 1950's kitchen reno** *(in Before & After)* With this clients budget we decided to keep layout but take out most of the overheads to make the space feel more open. Replaced the lost storage with pullout pantries on a wall that is not shown. Used Ikea cabinets and an awesome countertop material from Abet Laminati with aluminum layers. Replaced flooring with a great laminate that looks exactly like slate(I have it in my home). Painted window wall same color as cabinets to highlight the exterior view and art work. Looks great!! **Q: Island** *(in Photo Questions)* What color is the island cabinets A: Seashell with a Pewter glaze. **Q: Kitchen designer, architect, or cabinet stores.** *(in Design Dilemma)* My kitchen is pretty restricted in terms of space and layout. We are not going to move beams or tear down walls. Our local cabinet stores helped us layout the design and we are talking to the contractors. But I still wonder if we should consult with any architects or kitchen designers. What is the difference between them? A: That's quite the generalization. I must be one of those rare, trained Kitchen Designers that works at a cabinet shop. I have a large referral base mainly because I do listen to my clients and I care about meeting their needs. I also move the "big players" around, improving the floor plan and assist my clients with finishes, counter tops, paint colours, tile, flooring, etc. I am not sure what your experience is with cabinet shops but I think it's the luck of the draw, who ends up assisting you.....That's like saying all Designers are "good". --- *Source: Houzz professional profile.
