A: We unfortunately do not have that information on this project. Comparing to my stain samples on hand, I would suggest taking a look at Sherwin Williams Brazilnut SW 3130-P. **Q: Living Room Fireplace** *(in Design Dilemma)* Any ideas for what to do with this living room fireplace/cabinets/octagonal windows?? A: Remove the upper bookcases and add a simple mantle on fireplace. **Q: Kitchen update** *(in Design Dilemma)* My kitchen has very expensive J Rambo knotty alder cabinets , I would like to paint them or whitewash something lighter as the counters and wood floor and counter are the same hue no definition . Can you paint knotty alder should you fill in knots . Could I stain the island a different color leave it as an accent ... A: Those are beautiful knotty alder cabinets!! I would recommend black leather granite or soapstone. Soapstone counter tops are beautiful as well!! Here is a kitchen remodel in which soapstone was used with our stain grade cabinets. **Q: Cabinet help!** *(in Design Dilemma)* We are redoing our kitchen and baths. What are the best budget friendly/mid level cabinet brands for white painted cabinets? We have a busy family of 6 and we're hard on our cabinets, so I want to chose a painted finish will hold up. Will a baked on finish hold up better than a painted finish done on site? We're in NC if that helps with brands. A: You might consider stain grade cabinetry. A chip in the finish is less noticeable than a chip in a painted door. **Q: 1904 Historic Texas Home Receives Modern Renovation** *(in Before & After)* A renovation of the 1904 home of one of Grapevine’s first mayors sought to preserve the house’s architectural significance while improving its performance.
