When I saw his coffee tables, I was blown away by the unique design and sculptural quality of his work. Not only did it look aesthetically beautiful, modern and clean, but it also looked sturdy and well-crafted. I decided to order a coffee table from him. The shelf comes in two orientations so you can get one of each and mount them so that they form a full "bridge" with their ends almost touching. You can also stack the shelves in varying orientations as shown in the attached picture. **Q: What materials are use in the base?** *(in Photo Questions)* What materials were used and how was this constructed? Can it be custom ordered? A: Thanks for you question. The base is made of LEED certified Plyboo Amber Edgegrain bamboo plywood and the four S-curves that make up the base are cut using a CNC milling machine (or shopbot). The curves are held together by a unique method of wiring steel cable that relies on opposing forces to hold the different curves in stable relation to each other. The base is available in 30" x 30" and 36" x 36" dimensions, but can be custom ordered to other sizes. **Q: How did you construct this chair?** *(in Photo Questions)* It looks like a suspension bridge - really stunning. What did you use to construct this Adirondack chair? A: The chair is made of cedar and steel cable. It is comprised of two parts - a frame and a seat. The seat does not touch the frame at all, but is completely suspended from it by means of the steel cable.
