> Abhorrent customer service. Order arrived missing major parts and we were unaware until we discovered it ourselves during install. Still waiting for 4 months now on 2 major items and I have to contact them for an update, and every time, it’s the same story. Delays delays delays. Cabinets are manafactured in CHINA and only assembled in US . Total nightmare. Quality is mediocre. Design team was great tho. Other than that, STAY AWAY!!

> We order our cabinets July 2018, we were told cabinets would arrived one month. Its now Jan 2019 and we still have missing parts!!! The sales guy charged us extra and ordered extra part for us and they never refund money back to us even after several times calling!!!! The products often have scratches, but the life warranty service never worked even at the beginning when you received the scratched doors and cabinets!!! It's really hard to reach the sales or service people after you paid. After you kept had to keep calling, the "customer service reps" answer the phone calls, but never help you to get problems solved, it's all messed up. I don't even remember how many times I called and I experienced 3 customer service people, who really didn't bother to help!!!! Will NEVER buy from this company again or refer anyone. They are quick to take over twenty thousands of dollars from you and after you paid, they completely don't care about you as a customer. Save yourself all of the aggravation and headaches and DO NOT buy from this unprofessional, unethical company.

**★ — Cindy Connelly, Oct. 2017**

> I received my new cabinets today, Oct. 29, 2017 and they are the wrong style. The computer drawing has the style as Park Avenue raised. Unfortunately, Park Avenue shaker was ordered. I did not do the ordering. The order was placed through my contractor, but the mistake was made by my salesperson. I should have paid more attention to these reviews when deciding to use your company. I will now have to have cabinets installed with no doors and wait for ANOTHER 10 weeks for the rest of my order. I really would rather trash the entire project and find a better company. Very disappointing and unprofessional......just like the reviews state.

**★ — HU-344169, Aug. 2017**

> Awful experience. The cabinets arrived late with no doors and several damages. Absolutely no quality control or accountability with this company.

> My husband and I are in the process of remodeling our kitchen and are looking for a custom/semi-custom kitchen island. Many of the custom options were proving to be expensive, so we stopped into Solid Wood Cabinet Company to see what they could offer. We were impressed with the quality of the options displayed in the showroom and the knowledge of the designer who helped us. We officially placed our order a few days after our initial visit. Three days later we received a call that the style of cabinets we selected could not be stained the color that we requested. Our options were to keep the original style we selected and select a different stain or select a style of cabinet that could be stained the color that we preferred. We knew that we wanted to stay with the color we selected, but cabinets that could be stained that color were $500+ more! This took our $2500 island to more than $3k. After this occurred we were understandably nervous about what other hidden charges may be lurking and decided to get a custom piece built for $2800.
>
> It is a shame that this happened because we found $4k of quartz countertops at this location that we were planning on ordering to complete our remodel, but we are not unsure whether we want to go this route. They have a great price on quartz, but I'm worried there will be other fees that will crop up!
>
> I would proceed with caution and ask lots of questions, especially when selecting cabinet style and a non-standard stain. They did call us right away when there was an issue, so we appreciate that.

**Comment from Solid Wood Cabinets:**

> At solid wood cabinets we want to ensure we provide all of our customers with a product that they love, and try to deliver to them the dream kitchen they were envisioning. In this case, although we do not know all of the details, it seems that the style and color could not be produced exactly as requested and upon realizing that situation we informed the customer of their options on switching styles or door detail. Always with the customer best interest in mind our designer guided them to a style that would fit what they were looking for. Each selection of color and style may have different costs based the various potential combinations. It was in no way our intention to hide cost, but to present the customer with options to give them their dream kitchen. As always, feel free to email us directly at CustomerService@SolidWoodCabinets.com and we can give a more personal response.

**★ — Chris B, June 2017**

> Well, if you want to wait for all of your cabinets to be delivered over the course of 2+ months then, this is the place to purchase your cabinets. Where to begin…
>
> My wife and I placed our order to purchase $14,000 worth of cabinets and $5,000 towards granite counter-tops back in the middle of February 2017 and was told when we are ready for the cabinets to be delivered, it will take 4 to 7 days for the cabinets to be put together and delivered. When we finally got things ready for our kitchen renovation, I put the call in and was told that the cabinets will be delivered on March 17th. The day before, I got a call and was informed that the two wine racks that were a part of my order, were on back-order and will take another 4 weeks for them to be ready and delivered.
> The cabinets were delivered and overall, everything looked good but there were a couple dings, scratches, etc which I guess can be expected. I called SolidWoodCabinets and a rep (Pat – who was really the only person who seemed to know what she was doing) worked with me to replace the items that were damaged.
>
> After a couple of weeks, I checked in with them to find out if there was any news regarding the wine racks and was informed there were no updates…a couple more weeks went by and I checked again and still nothing. Now almost a month has passed so I decided to reach out to the Manager (Mike Schroeder) at the Woodbridge store where I purchased the cabinets and it took several calls for me to actually talk with this guy (he never returned my first couple of calls). I told him what was going on and he said he will take care of the wine racks and get back to me. Little did I know that would be the last time I talked to him even though I called and left a couple of voicemail's and left a few messages with whomever picked up the phone (not Mike of course) at the store. Even emailed him a few times but got but no response. Great customer service, right?
>
> So at this point I was able to speak with someone higher up and voiced my frustrations and concerns and was told that she would look into it. Now it is early May (a month and a half since the cabinets were delivered) and I’m still waiting on wine racks so after asking what can be done on their end to possibly get some money back, the response I get is that they don’t do refunds but she will see what they can do. A couple days went by and I get a call back and she says they will make an exception this one time by refunding me the cost of one (1) wine rack…which runs around $150. How great is that? I paid $19,000 in total and it is taking 2 months for them to complete the delivery of what I ordered but they will take care of the cost of one wine rack which is not even a 1% refund of the total order (it is actually 0.7%).
>
> So to make a long story short (I know, too late!), I finally got the wine racks on May 26! That only took 70 days and to compensate me for that time, they gave me less than 1% back for taking so long. And I would be doing a disservice to not mention that my in-laws (who purchased cabinets at the same time I did) are having even more problems than I did…items are missing and back-ordered and they have no idea when everything will be delivered.
>
> It I late June and to be honest I forgot about this whole situation and am just enjoying my finished kitchen but out of the blue, I get an email from Mike! He writes:
>
> “Hi Chris, I was just looking over my notes. Did you ever receive your wine rack or an update on when to expect it? Thanks, Mike.”
>
> The freaking nerve of this guy!!! He can’t call or email me back but was looking at his notes and was asking me if I received my wine racks. Well, let’s just say I sent him a not-so-nice reply and it was because of that email that I am writing this review. So…to end my review I can say with absolute certainty that I will never be stepping into one of their showrooms again nor will I recommend them to anyone and in fact, I will go out of my way and tell you and anyone else to stay away from this place.
>
> Please, keep your sanity and stay away from SolidWoodCabinets.com!!

**★★★★★ — Joe and Rose Sallemi, June 2017**

> Hey Tim,
>
> Just wanted to thank you for helping us design our new kitchen. We think it came out fabulous! Your company and the granite company delivered everything on time. If there was an issue, you guys sent a replacement right away. Your were spot on with your recommendation of Helix Contracting as the installer. He was very professional, did what he said he'd do and paid attention to the smallest of details to make sure he did the installation right and to our specification and wants. Again, thanks for your help. For the money, we got what we wanted and more.

**★ — William Raymond, May 2017**

> Utter lack of professionalism, lack of knowledge in cabinetry and kitchen design, lack of quality control, as well as a lack of courtesy and customer service from the staff at the Levittown/Bristol, PA facility.
>
> I will NEVER recommend someone go to this company for their cabinetry needs or kitchen design projects. And, in fact, you can rest assured that whenever I hear or see the name Solid Wood Cabinet Company I will warn the person or persons to stay as far away from this company as possible and will offer them several of their competitors’ information instead. I will proceed to explain to them the incredible disappointment they will dodge by contracting with a company other than Solid Wood Cabinet Company.
>
> I am absolutely disappointed and downright disgusted with the service, or lack thereof, this company has provided from start to finish with my kitchen remodel. Their salesperson and designer Natalia Panczyszyn has proven to be absolutely incompetent at her job. She is not fit in any way, shape, or form to design a kitchen or cabinetry solution.
>
> The Director of Sales, Kevin Etheridge, has proven to be arrogant and condescending in his handling of rectifying our situation from the start.
>
> On February 11, 2017 my significant other and I sat down with their salesperson, Natalia Panczyszyn, to design our kitchen. Which has proven to be a horrible mistake. First off, she could barely use her computer. I do not know if it was a lack of training or a lack of intelligence in using the machine, but either way the result was a disaster. For two hours we watched as she fumbled around with the mess on her desk at the same time she likewise fumbled her way through the design process.
>
> Below is a list of problems due to poor planning and design by Natalia:
>
> 1.)Natalia did not communicate with us one time during the process, not one single time either via a phone call or e-mail. She did not return any calls or e-mails we made or sent to her.
> 2.)Natalia “forgot” to send out our door sample to initiate construction of cabinets, delaying construction by two+ weeks.
> 3.)Natalia did not order the correct color for our wall cabinets. We were supposed to have a two-tone cabinet solution but she screwed that up completely.
> 4.)Our remodel was delayed and our contractor held on retainer because of a lack of communication by Natalia.
> 5.)Natalia did not order molding or the hide-away trashcan assembly kit we had specified.
> 6.)The gap-filling spacers are of the wrong style, fluted instead of plain.
> 7.)Arrogance of your senior staff, Kevin Etheridge, was appalling.
> 8.)The design Natalia created did not work and had to be changed and our kitchen cobbled together as best it could be. Cabinet doors did not open because of the placement of appliances.
>
> We spent $8,520+ on Solid Wood's Exclusive line and it turned out that we will not have the kitchen that we envisioned and designed. We will have the kitchen that had to be cobbled together piecemeal because of their employee’s incompetence and lack of quality control.
>
> The only reason I gave this company one star was because I couldn't post this with zero stars.
>
> DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR YOUR KITCHEN REMODEL!

> We did a complete renovation of our kitchen. We had shaker cabinets and replaced them with a solid wood set. Salesman David D. and associate Tabitha were professional. In the back end Customer Service Francesca K. made the purchase have merit. She is a credit to your organization and help to smooth all our difficulties. Kudos! We are very pleased and highly recommend these products.

> We went to Solid Wood Cabinet Company after looking at a few other companies. SWCC seemed to have the right combination of quality and a fair price. We ordered the cabinets from Bob and Patty in the Warminster location. They both were very knowledgeable and helpful in our design and cabinet choices. Francesca and Cindy in customer service were also great to work with. Francesca promptly solved a few small problems for us and made sure we were happy with our cabinets and the entire process. After our great experience with their team and our complete satisfaction, we would not hesitate to recommend Solid Wood Cabinet Company to anyone in need of new cabinets. Their quality, price, and customer service is unmatched.

> My fiancé and I went to Solid Wood Cabinets on August 14th, and a very sweet sales rep helped us design our kitchen. Two weeks later, we schedule the delivery of the cabinets for September 9th, and are told a few items are back ordered but they should arrive a week or two after the initial delivery. September 9th arrives and so do our cabinets. (They are a great quality for the price. My issues are elsewhere.) About a week later, our back ordered handles and pulls arrive.
>
> It is now a full month past our original cabinet delivery, and I still have no idea when I will be receiving my last back ordered cabinet. I was told it would be ready two weeks after the initial delivery on September 9th. Then, I was told a tentative delivery date of October 7th. Then, I was told a tentative delivery date of October 14th. However, it is now October 11th and I still have not received the call that is supposed to come a week before a delivery to schedule it. I have left several voicemails over the past few days with the person who schedules the deliveries asking if I can drive the hour and a half out to their warehouse to pick it up myself so I can get it as soon as possible, but have not received a reply.
>
> My fiancé and I are moving into the home that we just purchased and refurbished in two weeks. Until we get this single 6inch spice rack and are able to install our cabinetry, we cannot bring a plumber in to hook up our sink and appliances, and install our baseboard heating. This also means that until we get that cabinet, we have no heat, no sinks, no toilets, and no running water, despite having ordered and payed for our kitchen two months ago to avoid this exact thing from happening. We are making payments on cabinets that we cannot get and the lack of them is making our house unlivable. There are no words for the frustration and stress this has caused us. The prices are great for the quality, but I can't say they're worth the service.

> Had an issue with a store. However, after complaint the Director of Sales contacted me to help resolve the issue. He was very helpful and polite. This is the kind of service expected when make such large purchases! I am thankful my complaint did not fall on def ears.

**Comment from Solid Wood Cabinets:**

> WKane81,
> Thank you so much for the feedback and review. We are sorry you initially had difficulties, but we're much happier that that our customer care department was able to assist you and rectify all problems. We strive for 100% customer satisfaction while delivering high quality kitchen cabinetry! Enjoy your kitchen!

A: Good question from Dawn. I think you're going for overall life and quality of the countertop so I would have to say Granite Countertops are your best bet. Both have pros and cons that should be investigated, however.

**Q: Please HELP me with my ugly kitchen!** *(in Design Dilemma)*

(and please ignore the mess)
I am in love with my new home, except for the kitchen. It's aweful....
I was thinking of painting the cabinets a glossy black and replacing the handles, honestly I'm really not sure where to start. it's as if someone started to update it the ran (like I would like to) any advise is very much appreciated!

A: A lot of people suffer from the same problem - You are not alone! Figuring out where to start is always the toughest part. If this is your first crack at a new kitchen design, I would highly recommend getting professional help. Kitchen Designers are great at creating layouts and color schemes to fit your home and personality. They'll be able to optimize your kitchen space for utilization, movement, and storage; which of course is key!
If you're feeling a darker kitchen color scheme, try something like this:
Best of luck!

**Q: Island countertops** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I am replacing my island because of water damage. I need to find a countertop that will coordinate with my existing. I want something to update my kitchen. I would love to paint my cabinets white and redo all the counters but that is not an option at the moment.

A: If you have plans to replace your cabinets to white cabinets in the near future, I would look for a countertop that can work well with your current design as well as white cabinets. So with that, you could go with a black countertop!

**Q: Help with kitchen refacing: wood or thermofoil?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Hi -- I just bought a house that is only 4 years old. The kitchen cabinets really are not my style. The cabinet boxes themselves are in good condition, but the doors are cheap feeling laminate.
I am looking into cabinet refacing since I like the layout and the cabinet boxes are structurally sound. We are probably going for white shaker style with granite or quartz countertop and will reface or replace the island as well.
It seems like all the refacing companies in my area can only do white shaker in MDF/thermo and I have heard conflicting things about that. They say painted wood can crack and the thermo is more durable. Is yellowing/warping still an issue with today's MDF or was is that a thing of the past?
The floors will stay the same, but we will paint as well. Probably grey. We are not sure if we are keeping the white subway tile backsplash or change to a different colour/style for more contrast.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

A: If you're looking for factory direct White Shaker Kitchen Cabinets, you can browse around here. Are you local to NJ or PA?
As far as Thermo vs Painted Wood, it comes down to your own preference - you need to weigh the pros and cons. People like Thermo because it's affordable and has the "painted" look from the sheen. It's also easy to clean and maintain and is also moisture resistant. However, if you have Thermo and it gets a scratch or starts to peel, the damage is likely permanent. Whereas is you have a natural paint you can repaint.
