Contracting & Renovations, LLC for your next home construction project. > > Jorge oversaw the recent renovation of our kitchen and the conversion of an adjacent sunroom into an informal dining area. Our plan called for integration of the two rooms, enlargement of doorways, and demolition down to studs everywhere, together with installation of new insulation, cabinets and appliances. > > Jorge is a consummate professional and extremely organized and detail oriented. He obtained without a glitch all the necessary permits and required inspections. At our first meeting, before we had retained his services, he reviewed elevations of our plans, asked insightful questions, and punched multiple holes in the soffit to know exactly what was behind the walls, something our kitchen designer had never thought to do. Jorge’s discovery of concealed waste pipes that could not be moved necessitated revision of the plans, specifically using 30” tall upper cabinets instead of 36” tall cabinets. I credit Jorge with preventing a disaster had the designer ordered the taller cabinets. > > Jorge’s proposal was detailed and comprehensive, as well as competitively priced. Jorge has an extensive background working with all types of cabinetry and tiles, and he has an amazing color and design sense. He has truly “seen it all.” His suggestions were invaluable. His team of subcontractors, plumber, electrician, flooring specialist and especially his master carpenter and tile installer, are all skilled professionals and artisans. They showed up on time, spoke English, were pleasant and happy to answer questions. Jorge is a perfectionist who expects the same of his team. He clearly has their respect. > > During the demolition phase Jorge made sure that plastic sheeting was hung to contain dust and debris. Work areas were swept and left very clean at the end of each workday. Jorge was a constant presence. His communication skills are excellent, both in person and via daily texts and phone calls. He always kept us aware of what was to be done each day, and limited the disruption the construction caused to our daily lives. And boy were we lucky to have found them! Jorge was very helpful and efficient in preparing the budget and the timeline in advance, and he stuck to it until the very end. Jorge was extremely present with his communication, always available to answer any questions we had (and we had plenty!). He and his crew arrived as scheduled each day, and before leaving for the day, the space was always left clean and orderly. A few items of note was they did an amazing job on our herringbone backsplash, which is not an easy task, and after deliberating on several different color swatches, Jorge’s recommendation of the perfect stain color for the floors was spot on and the floors came out perfect. Overall, this was the best experience we could have asked for and I highly recommend their services. Jorge is an absolute pro and perfectionist, and I can't think of any other better qualities one would want for a contractor. Everything moved seamlessly through the architectural phase, foundation demolition, plumbing, electrical, hvac then to the more fulfilling drywall placement with painting and fixture placement. They are familiar with city codes and requirements and each inspection went off without a hitch due to FSB's excellent reputation and knowledge base. FSB contracting goes the extra mile, meeting me at the flooring store to help me out of my indecision and making gentle recommendations of where to shop for fixtures when requested. They keep cost in mind and stick to their budget and timelines. Any additional costs are explained and signed off with mutual agreement before that work is done and therefore we had no conflicts despite the high cost, high stress renovation of our basement. Anyone who has been through a significant renovation -and we have been through multiple- knows that your general contractor becomes more than an employee on a job because they are in your home and around your family. We can vouch for the professionalism and high caliber of work at FSB contracting and after a year long renovation, we are happy to even call them our friends!
