I am someone who gets blinded by the choices of showrooms, and Carmit, highlighted the areas of my project where we could economize while still keeping a cohesive design scheme without prompting. Without her guidance, I would have found myself way over budget and at a loss for where to make sensible cuts. I suspect this is her least favorite part of the engagement ---which is probably why it will be the most valuable to you. If I can offer no other advise it’s this: find a designer who understands you, but hire them to see the work through in partnership with your contractor. It will save you time, aggravation, and mistakes…a lot of the hell people normally complain about. It is an investment.
