So happy with the outcome! Minor changes to the house and landscaping are fair game. Should we remove the shrubs, paint the door, how can we add some appeal to the porch? A: Celerygirl did an awesome job --- we think you should go with that! **Q: Garage renovation** *(in Garages/Workshops)* I wanted to post our before and after for the garage, which was attached and under the main living area The main reason I did it was because it was above grade and we had about 400 sq. feet. We had to have the garage framed out, and floor leveled. I did all the tile on the floors and all the bathroom tile, plus installed radiant heating. We also made the little kitchenette, as an afterthought. (The kitchenette is in the are with the electrical below from the before photo). It's still there but I made wooden boxes to cover the generator and the tapestry to cover the box--we can still access it easily. My favorite part is the Murphy bed, which we first had as a closet. However, I found a kit on marketplace and the build of that took about 4 months. I am finally posting pictures because I wanted to share after getting so much help from the forums. A: Super cute and has some charming curb appeal hiding behind those bushes. We agree - bring down the height of the bushes and consider a lighter, brighter palette. The kitchen is small and had an interesting but not-very-useful wall feature. I am impressed with their ability to take their inspiration and create reality so cost effectively and beautifully. INSPIRATION PHOTO: The interesting, but not-so-useful wall in small kitchen: "AFTER"...the finished project!!!: "AFTER"...soooo useful now!!! Proud momma!! A: That's a great use of space and looks really eye-catching!! **Q: Complete Family Room remodel** *(in Remodeling)* Our 1969 entire home remodel/fixer upper. . These pictures highlight the family room remodel. We removed 2 walls. One being a large load barring wall that separated a formal living room & small family room to achieve a wide open new and improved family room. We ended up having to re-sheetrock due to the hard-to-remove wall paneling. It was glued! Then we trimmed all windows, added large baseboards, textured ceilings, shiplapped fireplace, and painted. The long awaited day that new carpet and wood flooring was finally installed was glorious!
