> So Chic has been a pleasure to work with. Hope does a great job pin pointing your style and listening to your wants and needs during the planning phase. She knows how to push you just enough out of your comfort zone to come up with a fabulous space in your home. So Chic has even worked with my tween to come up with an awesome redecorate of his bedroom, which he loves now. I would highly recommend So Chic for any future remodel or redecorating in your home. I have used her for 3 projects now and spent some D4D time with her which is very helpful when you just want some tips. She brings good vibes and ideas to any project I've done.

> Hope did an amazing job with our renovation and redesign project. We wanted to update and improve without completely refurnishing, and we were thrilled with the results. I didn't want a design that looked like it came straight from a catalogue. Hope was able to blend modern touches into our historic home and the result is the beautiful, eclectic, colorful look we were hoping for. She has a great eye and great ideas I would never have come up with on my own or from just looking at websites. I found Hope through her own social media searching for a designer in Indianapolis and working with her surpassed my expectations. She is focused, detailed, and provided information for decisions as we went along, and she stepped in to assist as little or as much as I needed. I would highly recommend her for projects ranging from a single room to a full home redesign, and would absolute recommend her to stage any home for sale.

**Comment from So Chic Home Design & Styling llc:**

> Thank you Beth! You two were great to work with as well. So happy that you love your updated interior as much as we do! Until the next project! :-)

> I found Hope on Houzz after reading reviews and looking at photos of her prior work.
> We had just purchased a new home and wanted make it our own so we decided we would buy all new furniture for the common areas. We also painted the entire house and remodeled the master bathroom, and added onto the basement bar.
>
> I am a very indecisive person so trying to remodel, furnish, and decorate an entire house would have taken me forever! In fact, I don’t know if I would have even gotten it done!
> I spoke with Hope about what I was looking for and told her what my style was.. With that she was able to help me make decisions on paint colors, furniture selections, and decor. She kept me focused and didn’t overload me with too many options, while also taking into consideration any feedback I gave to make any adjustments where necessary.
>
> Hope was very professional yet down to earth, she was very quick to respond when I contacted her, and she went above and beyond to make sure that I was satisfied with the outcome.
> I have recommended Hope to others that I know and I have even worked with her a second time. I would definitely hire her again for any future remodeling or decorating needs.

**Comment from So Chic Home Design & Styling llc:**

> Thanks Deana! It was a pleasure working with you. I look forward to working with you in the future!

> Faith, Hope and Love...and the greatest of these is HOPE! Hope did a PHENOMENAL job with our living room. Both my wife and I were blown away with the finished product. You could tell that she truly understood US, and it was evidently clear we could not have done this without her! She was able to stay within our budget, and she created a beautiful space for our family to spend time together. We will definitely be recommending her to our friends, and we look so forward to our next project with Hope! THANK YOU!!!!

> Hope was wonderful to work with. My organization hired Hope to assist with color schemes and home staging for a newly renovated home we were listing for sale. Hope did an amazing job of selecting the furnishings and working with us on what best fit the home as well as our budget. Hope handled every bit of the staging and we had an offer within days of listing! I would definitely recommend Hope to others and can't wait to engage her for future projects!!

> Hope is amazing! My husband and I moved into our Fishers home when I was 6 months pregnant and we never really had time to decorate. Our house is kind of dark and I wanted to lighten it up and have a more modern & chic design. Hope came in and worked her magic. She gave our living room, eating kitchen area, dining room and my home office a huge facelift! She checked in with us often to make sure we were happy and took the time to get to know my husband and I, in order to decorate according to our taste, but also to challenge us to take some risks! I would highly recommend her!

> I hired Hope to help with decorating my new home. She worked on my bedrooms, living and dining areas. I had been through a divorce and moved from a much larger traditional home. I wanted a space that was more transitional, warm, cozy and inviting. I was drawn to her after reading the reviews. She also had said something on her website about not having to follow strict rules when decorating. We did this over several months because of her schedule and mine. I was uncertain what to expect when we scheduled our decorating/install day. I was thrilled with the final result. I really feel my home reflects me. I love it. I will hire her again when I do my sunroom and loft.

> Hope is fantastic to work with and extremely flexible. She helped us to reimagine our dining room and family room. She utilized many of our existing favorite items, as well introduced companion pieces that brought the rooms together flawlessly.
>
> At the conclusion of each project, I was stopped at the door and asked to close my eyes before entering the house. I am not a person given to platitudes or false praise. I was absolutely STUNNED by the amazing transformation of our home. Hope is amazing and we are grateful to her for being able to "read" us, select a color palette, style and furnishings that reflect who we are.
>
> Hope, YOU ARE AWESOME!!!

> I hired So Chic Home Design and Staging for Interior decorating and personal home decor shopping. Hope did an AMAZING job transforming my living room, family room, and dining room! She helped me figure out my design style and matched it perfectly! She was very patient with me(I’m very indecisive) and she was always available to answer any questions. I plan to hire So Chic for future interior design projects.

> My spouse and I hired Hope Pace of So Chic Design and Staging, as we were looking for an interior designer to help us furnish three main living areas in a home we had just purchased. Our budget was modest (somewhere around $6K). Notwithstanding, she was able to transform these living spaces for us. In obtaining her services, we believe that we saved ourselves money in the long run by avoiding furnishings and decor that we’d later come to regret. We especially loved how she incorporated some of our existing furnishings and artwork into the design while also finding one of a kind pieces for us in secondhand and consignment shops. Hope is delightful to work with. She is accessible by email and text, and will involve you in bigger design decisions (in our case, such purchases as the dining room chairs and table). We would hire her again in a heartbeat. This experience has been worth every penny.

**★★★★★ — A Spurgeon, Oct. 2018**

> Where to begin? Our goal was to use some of our family antiques, but to add new pieces to modernize 3 rooms- 2 living areas and the dining room. Hope really listened and we worked closely together to find just the right pieces. She pulled art and family photos together to create truly personal gallery walls. Everyone in the family is in awe. We can’t think of anything we’d change. LOVE it. I highly recommend working with Hope!!

**★★★★★ — Rachael n/a, July 2018**

> I hired Hope to help me select exterior paint colors. My roof is an orangey-brown color and I was really struggling to figure out what would look best. Hope came over to assess the exterior and also took a look at my interior decorating style to get a sense of what I like. A week or so later, she presented me with multiple color schemes to choose from - all of which fit with my style and vision. Absolutely a great value for the cost!

We carried the same colours throughout the home and into the dining room. The client w…

We also incorporated various textures and modern patterns to breathe a new sense of comfort and style into the space. ~So Chic

 - Description: Our client wanted a vintage-y eclectic look for her living room. The goal was to make the space casually formal - a sitting area to entertain or 'steal away' and read a book on a lazy, rainy day. We added a soft, muted colour scheme with pinks, blues, taupes, and ivory. We refinished a beautiful vintage sideboard and added whimsical accents throughout the space. We later updated their small guest room from 'bleh' to 'vintage retreat'. The client ab-so-lutely LOVED the finished look!

Following our initial consultation, I created a design concept board of a lovely transitional scheme complete with cool jewel tones (purples, blues) that played nicely against a (gray) neutral backdrop. ## Community Q&A

**Q: Ideas for window treatments?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Kind of unique windows in our bedroom; any ideas for cool window treatments?

A: It appears that you have a great exterior view. If privacy isn't a huge factor, I'd go with Flat Roman shades on the two side windows only. Simple and classic that transition well with decor.

Good luck
~So Chic

**Q: Need help with coordinating pillows on grey sectional** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Need help choosing pillow colors/patterns for grey sectional in great room. Sofa is grey, draperies are a charcoal trellis pattern - turquoise chair with some turqoise accents. Should i pick up the charcoal as well as the turquoise or can i select pillows with cream (to brighten up, with turquoise and light grey). Thank you

A: That would work as well. Just make sure to def lighten it up with cream pillows too.

You can get away with two cream, two geo bold, and two of the last one that you found on zG. Make sure they are at least 20" for optimal visual impact.

**Q: Marble floor: bad idea?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Need some advice. My designer is recommending a black and white marble herringbone floor for the children's bathroom. It'll look cool, but I wonder if marble isn't an impractical choice. Doesn't it stain? You can't use tilex or bleach on it, apparently. Does anyone have experience with marble floors? Regrets?

A: I agree that a porcelain tile might be more practical for a child's bath. Have you considered penny round or hex tile (with dark grout)? Marble, while quite classic and elegant, will require some regular maintenance and it can be a bit slippery for kiddos.

**Q: I see elegant, he sees stupid - tie breaker votes for our dining room** *(in Polls)*

My husband and I don't see eye to eye on our 14x14 square dining room in our in-progress custom build traditional, hardie-board home. Where one sees elegant, the other sees 'stupid' (direct quote). Where one sees classic, the other sees gaudy. I beg you to vote &&&& comment on whether fad, on-trend or classic; gaudy, fancy, elegant or tastefully simple; etc. 1. Tray with double molding and 1/2 wainscotting

Coffered circle. No wainscoting.
No coffered, 3/4 Wainscotting
Subtle Tray

A: I'm not a fan of tray ceilings. Wainscoting can be divine in more (updated) traditional style homes. I can see how it could translate 'overkill' if both are installed in same area. Simplicity should be key here - either one or the other. That said, from all of these, I highly favor pic \# 4 Transition style--subtle tray (no wainscoting). Still classic but could easily go with any style.

**Q: Coffee Table Help!** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I've been searching for the right coffee table for this sectional for ages and can't find anything perfect! I'm avoiding any glass tops as I will be needing something somewhat child friendly. I found this nice but simple wood two-tier sample table but I'm not sure if the size is right! It is about the width of the area rug in the picture, but only 3 inches longer. The length of the table is 46 inches and the length of the sofa (excluding the chaise) is 80 inches. Does that make this table too small for the space??

Do you think it is too boring? I plan to get a light grey 8x10 rug to put under the couch and table, and to style the table with a nice tray, orchid and books. Would appreciate any advice!!

A: Consider:
A couple of small cylindrical drum side tables - maybe of varying heights or colors that fit your scheme to draw interest. West Elm, Crate and Barrel, Wayfair or Target may have some great options!
Perhaps a large upholstered square, round, or rectangle table ottoman (in a kid friendly fabric , or even leather) - check out Houzz' shopping site!
Or, a large round tray table from Wayfair - form and function here.
Sounds good about how you plan to style once you've found your table(s).
Definitely add some colour to your space via area rug (be sure to research appropriate sizing for your space), then add some fluffly colourful pillows and artwork from colours found from your area rug. This will help marry the space a bit more for you!
Good Luck!
~So Chic

**Q: Styling suggestions** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Apparently, I'm not a details person. Deciding on the various design elements for our kitchen was fairly easy, but now that it has finally all come together, I'm blanking on what to do with these shelves. I'm not a huge fan of buying stuff just for the sake of decoration, so suggestions that are pretty but practical would be really appreciated.

A: Agree - I get the idea, but it's not very practical to have shelving right there over your beautiful countertop. I'd float shelving on wall somewhere vs. over the island. Add some practical functionality such as island lighting - maybe some pendants here instead? Oh, and when or if you do decide to go with any open shelving, proudly show off some bright white dishes for a fresh look.
Good luck,
~So Chic
