> JM Construction quoted me a total remodel of my master bath. I accepted the quote and the work started on the date stated in the quote. The owner, Jim, greeted me with his crew on the first day. The carpenters were all professional and skilled. They did the work and cleaned up after each day. Some problems occurred, but were resolved quickly.  I would recommend JM Construction to anyone who is seeking a bath or kitchen remodel.

> Out of the 3 companies I received a kitchen bid from, JM Construction's was the absolute worst experience by a LANDSLIDE. If you are under the age of 35, they will not take you seriously which is downright insulting because they treat you like a teenager who lives with your parents. After that experience, I should have just ended it but I gave them the benefit of the doubt and kept the process moving. Additionally if you care about your budget and want to self manage it to ensure you are not being ripped off, it irritates them which would only actually make sense on their part if they planned on ripping you off. They clearly are looking for unopinionated and uneducated customers who could care less about the design or products used. The designer I worked with was rude and treated me like an inconvenience. It took multiple attempts for her to even initially respond to me after which she had an attitude, was considerably late for our appointment, and was not prepared with the designs which she said she had ready to go. So after waiting 15 min for her to even acknowledge me (as I stood right there while she worked with someone who did not even have an appointment) I waited for an additional 15 min to allow her to finish working up her designs. At the end of the appointment it was clear that she wasn't keen on receiving input on "her" kitchen design and she literally gave me an annoyed look when I had specific questions on cabinet materials. (Get off your high horse lady! It's MY kitchen and MY money so I would like to actually be happy with it. Weird how every other designer elsewhere was extremely interested in coming up with a kitchen which met MY needs and not THEIRS.) I got the overall impression from her that they are only looking for basic quick projects in order to maximize their profit. The only OK part of the experience was when the contractor visited to get measurements etc. He seemed very friendly. However, I was never allowed to speak with him again unless I went through the designer who made it very clear that I was not permitted to talk to him unless she gave me permission. Best part of it all was that they strung me along for months and I NEVER even received a real bid after numerous requests for it. They kept asking for my project budget even though we had already discussed a general price point for the cabinet costs (and I had a meaningful conversation with the contractor about ball park estimates for that specific work). So let me get this right.... before you do the full bid that includes the contracting costs, you want me to tell you my budget so that you can justify spending every penny of it no matter what? I don't think so. Keep in mind that I had already expressed that I understood that the costs would be substantial so it's not as if they should have been afraid that I was being unrealistic with my budget (aka a waste of their time). They won't even put in the proper work for a bid so is this really a company you want for a renovation that can take weeks to months once started? Go somewhere else. Thanks for your bad business practices and lack of respect JM! I'm going to go spend my 35k elsewhere which worked out great for me because I went with a different (very reputable) company who offers a lot more for the money and a friendly designer to boot.

We do projects ranging from as little as $100 to as much as $500,000+.  We even build custom homes!  Potential clients come to us because of our expertise in the remodeling and design fields.  Our process begins with an estimator visiting the home and discussing with the customer what they would ideally like to see in their home. The estimator will take dimensions and photos and then determine whether or not all of the work can be done structurally to the house.  The dimensions and photos are then given to the designer along with any other important details in regards to the estimate.   The designer will now begin working on the design; once the design is finished it is emailed to the customer for review and critique.  The designer will meet with the client to discuss material choices so that the estimator can give a very descriptive and detailed bid for the project once all materials are selected.   Also, while we try very hard not to have our appointments wait, we are a full remodeling company with a retail showroom, and unfortunately sometimes other walk-in customers are in the showroom when our appointments arrive.  We do apologize for that inconvenience.
