Within the first two days of work, it became clear that the quality, planning, and site safety did not meet professional standards. > > Issues included inadequate floor and HVAC protection during demolition, failure to seal plumbing, improper handling of a mold issue, lack of basic site coordination (including no dumpster on demo day), and cabinetry ordered incorrectly and modified to fit. Communication was poor, and at one point a worker was left alone on site and asked my husband for instructions on how to complete the work. > > I terminated the contract early due to these concerns and requested a fair partial refund. I sent a detailed letter with photographic documentation via certified mail, which was signed for. Six months later, I have received no response and no refund. > > I am sharing this experience so other homeowners can make an informed decision. Based on my experience, I strongly recommend thoroughly vetting this contractor and getting everything clearly documented before proceeding with any home renovation. **Comment from Allen David Cabinetry:** > This customer chose to terminate the project early and did so unilaterally, before the work outlined in the contract could be completed and without allowing the contractual process for resolution. As a result, the termination constituted a breach of the signed agreement. > > Many of the concerns raised relate to work that was in progress and not yet complete at the time the project was stopped. While no refund was contractually required, we nevertheless offered a good-faith settlement, which the customer declined. > > Since that time, additional claims have been raised that were not part of the original dispute, despite our having provided a thoughtful and documented response when the issue first arose. > > We respect a homeowner’s right to share their opinion. At the same time, we stand by our work, our contracts, and our record.
