Shelter is a full service interior design firm specializing in residential and small hospitality interiors.

Julie Richard founded Shelter on the principal that great design can enhance one's life both functionally and aesthetically. Julie has designed a diverse array of projects; with an eye for detail and an understanding for the importance of the client relationship. Julie works closely with each client to design fresh, unique environments. Julie seamlessly integrates texture, balance, proportion, light, color and an unexpected mix of traditional and modern elements to create sophisticated and attainable environments that reflect each client's stylistic tastes and lifestyles.

A native of the Boston area, Julie had a background and career in fashion before pursuing her passion for interior design. She received a Master's degree in Interior Design in 2004. While attending and following graduate school Julie worked for a number of distinguished high-end interior design firms in Boston. The experience and knowledge she gained laid the foundation to establish Shelter Interior Design, LLC.
