We went to store on Rymal and picked the quartz and the profile - 1/2 bevel, for the counter/island. They came and lazer measured my kitchen for the stone, that took almost 2 hours. > > The following week, stone on the go asked the our contractor to bring the large kitchen sink in order to cut the opening accurately, as I was not replacing the sinks. The contractor asked about the small sink in the island and was told they didn’t need it. > > Within a couple of weeks the counter/island was delivered for install. The profile was not what we ordered, but a straight edge. However, we agreed to keep it. ( That should have been the first sign …) > > The large kitchen sink was installed perfectly, inset, with the stone overhang of about 1/8 inch so there was no visible glue/ caulking. But not the small sink in the island. There was no 1/8 in overhang. The corners of the sink were cut to large for the sink. Too of the ends weren’t straight. The installer suggested a larger sink to fit the opening properly. … Remember, they did not need the small sink, when asked, in order to cut the opening.. > > The contractor was dealing with Heather, the owner of Stone On The Go. A few weeks later, the installer came back, I was not home, the contractor was here, and the installer tried to shave off the section of stone that wasn’t straight. The scratched the sink and decided the island counter top has to go back to get cut properly. This time they took the small sink. > It came back worse than before. The installer put the sink in and caulked it with white caulk. The opening is still too large for the sink, although the sides are now straight. Further, they lost the sink stopper and gave me one that he said was better than the one I had. It isn’t better, doesn’t fit properly. > > I called Heather, the owner and Yes, I was very upset, however, she didn’t care one bit. I asked if she would cover the cost of a larger sink, her answer was NO. I asked about cutting a new piece of stone, her answer was NO. .. of course I’m getting more upset as I cost me well over $7000. > Her response was, that they use a template when cutting opening for sinks and because I didn’t buy a new sink from her, she would not replace anything. That was it. Had she agreed to cover the cost of a new sink that would properly fit into the opening, it would have solved the issue. > Heather was rude and couldn’t have cared less. They state they will tell you of discrepancies with walls and levelness of cabinets before install so they can be corrected. We were told nothing. Only asked where we want the seam. > > It is all a farce. They simple come in and glue the countertop on top of the cabinets. No shimming or checking to see if it's "as level as possible". They didn't even bring a level when installing. They installed my countertops in less than an hour. > > The bubble is on the one end of the level and it's "within tolerance". However, over a length that spans more than 4', that's a 1/4" discrepancy across the length. > > The grout lines slope downward (see photo with blue arrow). There is a gap between the drawers (drawers are level) and countertop on one side of my cabinets. > > Spilled water runs off the counter and onto the floor. He can point out any areas that need adjusted before the installation. Our installers can shim and adjust to a certain extent but cannot correct really unlevel cabinets. Same goes for the walls.
