> Allie was so helpful in designing my kitchen! I did not know how to think about the layout and she came in with great ideas that made the space so much more functional. She listened to what I wanted and helped pick out beautiful materials. I love my kitchen now and would definitely recommend working with Allie again!

 - Description: This coastal style retreat was built recently and we had the pleasure of supplying the original cabinetry, counter-tops and flooring. A few months later the owner enlisted our designer Allie Reed to add this fabulous custom wine bar right off the kitchen in the matching cabinets. In the living room they added a custom built-in from our Shiloh All Wood Cabinetry line in an Arctic white beaded inset door with a matching wood top and seeded glass in base cabinets. ## Community Q&A

**Q: where are the counter stools from?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Hello! They are from Pottery Barn - Cline Counter Stool in the Antique Umber finish

**Q: cabinet brand + color** *(in Photo Questions)*

What brand and color are these cabinets? The kitchen is beautiful

A: Thank you! These are Shiloh cabinets in Niebla Azul (a Sherwin Williams color).

**Q: Love the counter stools!** *(in Photo Questions)*

Would anyone know where to source the counter stools in this kitchen photo?

A: Hello! They are from Pottery Barn - Cline Counter Stool in the Antique Umber finish

**Q: Anchors I used didn't work. What kind of anchors do I need?** *(in Home Repair)*

Hi, all!
I'm installing a new curtain rod in my bathroom and I thought both walls were drywall and tried to use this anchros (similar to these in Amazon). They worked in the previous apartment when installing a coat hanger, so I thought they would work for these walls too.

Well, they didn't.

The result was this: left wall and right wall. Pretty bad and I'm super frustrated.

Not sure, but the sound for each wall is different (video here), this makes me thing they are different.

Any anchors recommendations for the walls?
Can I simply buy the correct anchors and use the pre-existing holes or I need to use new holes?
I believe each one of the walls is different. Can you tell me what kind of anchors do I need for each one of them?

A: Most likely you have lath & plaster walls, not drywall--they don't accept plastic anchors. These anchors should work.
Other possibilities:
\- It could be a corner bead if you're drilling near a corner (Corner beads)
-They could've used steel studs instead of timber
\- It could be a concrete or brick wall under the drywall

**Q: Cutting out drywall for Cambria to fit** *(in Remodeling)*

So we had our Cambria installed yesterday and apparently measurements were off by 2/16ths of an inch which made the installers need to cut through drywall. Is this normal? When we asked our contractor he said anything up to 3/16ths was normal/acceptable and needing to cut into drywall happens usually around 50% of the time with installs. This is our first kitchen renovation and I just want to make sure there isnt a future issue that might arise from this. We are planning on eventually doing a backsplash. Thanks for the advice!

A: Your contractor is correct, it does happen a lot! Since the actual opening of the drywall is so slight and you're adding backsplash, no future issues should arise from the tiny gap. However, depending on the size of your backsplash tiles, you may need to have someone patch up the drywall under the window so they have something to adhere to.

**Q: Do I still need a ventilation fan in a kitchen with cooker hood?** *(in Heating & Air Conditioning)*

My kitchen is 881 cubic feet and a separate room with a backdoor. Above the gas stove, there's already a ducted cooker hood that vents to the outside. Is an additional ventilating fan an overkill or an improvement? I don't want to add another thing to clean if it's not useful. Thoughts?

A: As long as your hood vent works properly, there is no need for another vent.
