Pillar to Pillar is a licensed general contractor serving San Francisco and the greater Bay Area. Owner Jerry Lyons started the company on a simple idea: homeowners should know exactly what is happening on their project, what it costs, and why. That has not changed.

We specialize in outdoor structures. Multi-level hillside decks, architecturally framed pergolas, weather-shielded pavilions, modern horizontal fencing, retaining walls, and hot tub surrounds. Bay Area terrain is not forgiving, and a lot of contractors will not touch a steep or constrained site. 

We also handle structural repairs and restoration, home additions and room conversions. If you have had water, mold, or weather damage and mitigation is finished, we do the build back.

Fog, salt air, and wind are hard on outdoor construction here, so we select high performance materials built for coastal conditions instead of whatever is cheapest that week.

Permitting is part of the job, not an afterthought. We coordinate with local planning departments so your build is code compliant from the start.
