That local connection has always has been important to me. To know that the material you are buying comes from someone who has actually gone to the quarries before he has purchased it makes a difference. Since their move to St. Helens Rd. there are so many more new and exciting things to see at their location that every time I go in I find something new I want to show my customers. It is incredibly soft, and susceptible to etching and staining. If you want to buy anything though them, I would suggest insisting on an independent lab report prior to purchasing or getting a sample of the material to see how soft it is yourself. My countertops are beautiful now, but even small metal items dropped from a few inches above puts a noticeable chip in the surface. We do try our best to explain particular properties of specific stones however, if the stone is new to us we depend on the information our vendors provide until we test or learn otherwise. We would be very interested to know the specific material you purchased so that we can inform future customers. We find that the satisfaction of customers is much more dependent on setting accurate expectations of the product they are purchasing than the product itself.
