Aztec Artistic Productions began in 2002, specializing in custom design and fabrication for upscale residential and commercial applications. We work with steel, aluminum, copper, bronze , brass, and stainless steel, stone, and glass to obtain stunning results. Unique patina applications and surface treatments are also a part of our repertoire.

Our products include custom outdoor fire pit tables, indoor fireplace surrounds and conversions, indoor and outdoor water features, furnishings, architectural details, sculpture, and application of unique patinas and special finishes.  We offer the most distinguished and unique pieces that meet our clients style, functional, and aesthetic desires. Communication, creativity, engineering, attention to details, and top notch fabrication supports our relationship with our clients.

> John is a true craftsman with attentiveness to detail in both form and function. He designed two garden gates for us, one of which was large and both of which entailed complicated installations due to the sites. His approach is as meticulous as it is creative. He sent draft designs, visited the site with material samples so that the garden designer and I could choose just the right color and sheen, and carefully inspected the site and asked about how we wanted to use the gates. For instance, we wanted one that had a latch that we could unlock but would not be intuitive for people approaching from the street (it leads to the back yard). He found just the right latch for us. The final gates are beautiful. They are works of art in their own right but fit into the garden so well, that they seem to be a part of it. I cannot recommend John highly enough. He is a craftsman who approaches his work with care, who works to understand his customers' needs, and whose deep experience with materials, and creativity with designs. In looks, utility, and durability, the gates he created for us went beyond our expectations.

> We had some new decks put on our house and instead of traditional railings we wanted to do something little different.

John at Aztec came up with a wave design that would connect each panel across two decks for a total of 10 panels  The waves are perforated and light filters in and out.  The wave is even more stunning at night when accented with lighting.

> After looking endlessly to find a Fire table to be used functionally as a table and fire pit, I called Aztec because I saw a fire pit that was creatively designed.  I asked John if it was possible to make a 5 foot by 3 foot table that could have the glass perimeter removed and a piece made to cover the opening to use as a plain table.  John created a masterpiece and the shipping and delivery was easy.  After about 6 months, I had a problem with the table, John created a new table and corrected the issue at his expense. John is very creative person and stands behind his work.  Highly recommend Aztec products.

> My wife and I live in an 1892 Queen Anne where we had two sets of powder coated black steel hand rails designed, manufactured and installed by John Xo'chihua of Aztec Artistic Productions, Ltd.  The hand rails were completed in two phases in 2012 and 2013; one set to span the landscape entry steps and the second to attach to wooden newel posts and span 7 step entry staircase and improve upon the not-to-code existing wooden rail.  Given the age and style of our home, we wanted the hand rails to be historically "period appropriate."  John worked closely with us to problem-solve several options to adapt to our situation and design preferences.  The result was a beautiful design that greatly enhances both the aesthetics and safety of our home's entry.  We were extremely pleased with the quality of workmanship and installation.  John is very professional, personable and talented.  He is extremely knowledgeable about design, the challenges of of old homes, and a precise installer.  We had a great experience and have used John's advice for two other future projects since.  We highly recommend John.

We came across some fire tables designed by John of Aztec Artistic Productions at a Portland loft tour and loved his ideas. We hired John to create a table for our patio and we are very pleased with it. He listened to what we wanted and came to the house to make sure it would complement our home. We then commissioned John to create a water feature to complete the space. He showed us many sketches and also brought us to look at the materials before we settled on the design. I have contacted him for advice on caring for my table and he always gets back to me in a timely manner. It was a pleasure working with him and we are very satisfied with our new outdoor space. two questions: 1) Do you create side posts that the gate attached to? 2) Approximately how long does it take to fabricate?

A: Hi kylemrice,

Yes, I do make the gates with side posts as well as hardware that you might want. There are many options to consider. I've shipped all across the country.

The surround is covered in Travertine.

A: It's a custom made set up designed to drop in to an opening. The "hood" or "vent" is also custom made. You can contact me if you have questions about it's functionality. Thanks!

What kind of stone is that and color, please?

A: Although I did not do the stone work, I believe it is Basalt veneer over cinderblock. It is gray in color.

Set up for natural gas with a manual match light system, this table is $2600.00. Options for  other ignition systems and LP gas are available. Please let me know if I can answer any more questions.
