If I can be of any further assistance, please let me know! **Q: Shower design question** *(in Design Dilemma)* We are planning on having a seat built inside the shower we are designing. What is the minimum depth we should plan for? A: I usually make them 10-12" deep, depending on how much it encroaches into the shower, and about 20-24" high. You also want to slope it very slightly to allow water to run off. If it's in a steam shower, they're often taller/deeper for comfort while sitting, whereas if it's more of just a convenience ledge, shorter and less deep may be better. **Q: Can I use your image in my blog page?Thanks** *(in Photo Questions)* A: Sure, absolutely. You don't want "almost matching but not quite". The nickel is warmer, chrome is more cool grey-silver. There should be plenty of alternatives very close to that style that come in chrome though. good luck! **Q: Kitchen Island Pendant Height** *(in Design Dilemma)* My island pendants will be fitted tomorrow - what height should they be? Is there a rule of thumb? My ceilings are 8 feet. The island is standard counter height. What should the clearance be between the counter and the bottom of the pendant? Thanks in advance A: If your fixture is tall, you may want the bottom set a little lower than 3' above your counter so it isn't hugging right up to your ceiling. I usually start with 3' above a kitchen island, then lower a little if needed based on fixture size. You just don't want it so low that it's getting in your way if you're standing and looking at someone through it. **Q: How to fit a dark color furniture into a light color room** *(in Design Dilemma)* Hi all. The room and my house has light beige walls and light wood tiles with ivory white baseboard, doors, shelves. However we received a bed as a gift. The bed is a dark oak wood bed. I have attached the photo of the bed. I have researched Houzz that almost all rooms that has dark furnitures either has dark floors or dark walls. I really need advice on how to fit this bed into the room. Thank you! A: Contrast is a good thing! Sounds like it will look great in there- beds should be a statement. Love the white bedding idea too. If you need to ground it, you could do that with a rug, but even that can be on the lighter side- maybe a subtle tonal pattern. Or add a small side chair in the corner that ties in with the wood bed.
