Not only does this company charge almost twice as much for an emergency visit as compared to other good companies, they don’t respond to emergencies on the weekends, and therefore it may take more than five days for them to actually come to your house. Also, they’re really bad about following up - calling back when they say they will, and maintaining their customer call list. The good companies will call you in advance of your bi-yearly service visit to schedule it. Not Advent Air. **★ — HU-569338290, July 2025** > Unfortunately, a year and a half after buying an entire new unit it has failed and we have been without air for 6 days in the middle of July. We had another company who offered weekend service come look at it and apparently it is a major part, but Advent wouldn’t even return our call till Monday morning and won’t come out until Tuesday at 3 PM. It’s unreal. We purchased from this company due to their availability and timely responses. This is absolute nonsense. Do not end up like us. Cris McCown spent the time to outline the complete duct system along with the return requirements that my home needed. He was very professional and obviously knew his way around an HVAC system. He recommended multiple upgrade to my duct system and return lines to improve the functionality of the new system. > > Installation day: I received a text message informing me of Jimmy’s arrival. Jimmy and his partner Q arrived and started removing the old unit and prepping the new replacement. About 2 hours later Cris arrived ( he had text me that he would be stopping by ). He ended up staying for at least 4 hours laying out and installing most of the duct upgrades he outlined in his initial quoted visit, from his hand drawn diagram. He also assisted with removing the units and lifting the new units into the attic. Much more then I would expect a sales/evaluator to perform but I’m sure the installation team appreciated the help. > > Jimmy and Q worked professionally to complete the installation along with installing the extra return line and upgrading the master bedroom vent. The installation was finished hours before the projected completion time. Even their cleanup and control unit demonstration was performed with the customer in mind. > > The only problem I have, is when moving the new equipment into the attic, both sides of the unit were scratched. I am sure that this didn’t affect the functionality but it was like getting your first scratch on a new car. He told me my air conditioner was working at less than half it should be. He asked me if I would be open to talk with one of their "comfort care" representatives. My unit was the best that could be obtained 20 years ago. Air conditioning has vastly changed since my unit was installed! I live in Texas! I was driven to shutting down my heating and cooling unit last year in June when my husband passed as I literally could not afford the utility bills to run it! Advent Air came out and gave me a reasonable price without pressuring me to buy from them. I told them I would get other estimates, (I did) and they asked me to let them know if chose someone else. The installers were very professional and wore booties to protect our floors. They had all the technology to install and test to be sure all worked great before the left. What was amazing is they told us we would save 30%-50% on our electricity bill and during hot, hot Texas summer our bill did drop 50%. Great way to save short term and long term. Their follow up scheduled maintenance care has been great and on time.
