Each builder we interviewed had its own set of pros and cons (price, quality, project personnel, available bandwidth, project management software, overall experience/reputation in the industry, etc) and our choice to use Sendero was based on getting the greatest overall value. > > We really thought it was important to have a builder that had both a longstanding history in the custom homebuilding space (Sendero had several decades in and around austin), and an active portfolio of homes under construction that were comparable to what we envisioned for our project (Sendero generally has around 5-10 active projects at various stages). > > We ended up spending over a year on architectural plans for our house, and Sendero was present at each meeting with our architect (Vanguard Studio) and definitely created value in the meetings with their knowledge of what would add/reduce time and expense to our project once under construction. > > After we began the build, we had a target of 9-11 months to complete our home, and ended up finishing within that range and within 1% of budget (and the slight overage was because we changed our minds on a few things).
