Alexis is an Arizona native, with an Interior Design degree from Northern Arizona University. She started her design career right outside San Francisco, California with an emphasis in custom furniture. Quickly realizing that her heart belonged to the construction end of the design spectrum, she switched gears and started working as a tile and stone expert in the Bay Area. After relocating to Arkansas for her husband's job, she is now designing residential remodels and new construction homes in the greater Little Rock area.

"Meeting new clients, and exploring each of their unique design styles, is exhilarating and intriguing, but watching it all come to life in their own personal space is the most rewarding part of it all."- Alexis Dietrich

> Alexis was absolutely AMAZING! My husband and I built our dream home. We hired Alexis to assist us from breaking ground to moving in. She is very experienced on the construction side of things to the interior designing. After knowing our taste and style, she made so many amazing suggestions on the house plans and did an amazing job with assisting us when making all the interior selections. The changes that she suggested, made the house look beautiful. We have had so many compliments on our new home. Alexis will treat your new build or remodel like it is her home. She will put her heart and soul into your home! She is very dependable and will take the color and style of what you like and will turn your home into your dream home. When you build a home, most of the time after completion, three are things that you had wished would have been different. I can tell you that there isn't one thing in the entire home from the house plan, flooring, paint, hardware, fixtures, doors and windows that we would have changed. That is almost unheard of. She spent so much time on every single decision to assist us. She stayed on top of the builder and all the contractors as they built the home and would correct things when mistakes were made and noticed when something was overlooked. Alexis is very fair on her fee. As I told her, you can't put a price tag on her worth. We never dreamed how much difference Alexis was going to make in our home. We were blown away and now have the perfect home!

> Highly recommend Alexis Dietrich Designs! Alexis helped me with ALL facets of my new home construction. She met me on-site multiple times, met to help me select tile, carpet, fixtures, and finishes, and did CAD drawings bc I had such a hard time visualizing finished products. She became a friend through the whole process! I could not have done my home this way without Alexis!! She’s an amazing Interior Designer!

**★★★★★ — Complete kitchen remodel update of living room a, Dec. 2021**

> When we decided to do a complete kitchen remodel (along with considerable updates to our living room and public areas of our home) hiring an interior designer was one of my considerations. Due to past experiences with interior designers, I decided not to hire one for this project.
> I am SO SO thankful I was introduced to Alexis Dietrich Design from another one of her clients before the actual beginning of the project. Alexis listened and understood what I wanted to accomplish and the results have far exceeded what I even dreamed was possible! I am absolutely in love with everything she has done! She is a true professional. She sourced and provided every decision and detail quickly always staying within my budget. She is fun to work with and was always accessible. This project was completely stress free due to Alexis. I highly recommend her to anyone looking to hire a true professional Interior Designer!

> Alexis is absolutely amazing! She not only decorated our new home, she also gently guided us in every aspect of our new build and we could not be happier with the end result. Her guidance and knowledge took the stress out of all the decisions that have to be made with a new build. She is affordable and goes above and beyond. I cannot say enough good things about Alexis!

> Alexis has been amazingly helpful for our Prospect Terrace home renovation! We needed help with new surfaces for our kitchen island and surrounding countertops as well as a material for our backsplash. Her knowledge and experience are unbeatable. It's as if she could read my mind when I explained what we wanted. She found the perfect colors, textures, and style for our home. We could not be happier. She was always in constant touch and went out of her way to leave samples at our doorstep. She went above and beyond to help us choose lighting by texting me photos of options daily until I settled on something. She came to our home the day after we called her! All of this excellent service came with a smile and an enthusiasm for her job. We loved working with Alexis Dietrich Designs and recommend her highly!

> We just began our custom home building project and I'm so glad to have Alexis' expertise. She listens to our tastes and color choices, asks a lot of questions, and so far she has nailed our perfect home. She has taken the scary stuff and made it so much fun! She also suggests and gently guides me away from mistakes. Budget and cost-effectiveness coupled with classy aesthetics is a win-win! I highly recommend this talented woman!

> Working with Alexis on my home remodel was a true delight. She came to me highly recommended and her expertise, taste and customer service did not disappoint. I was very indecisive in choosing my stone for our kitchen remodel and Alexis remained attentive, concerned, patient, and helpful during the entire process. I often think that I would have made the wrong decision if I had not had the pleasure of working with Alexis. It was truly her respect of my quest for perfection that allowed me to find the right, perfect, stone for my home. She consulted on anything that I needed when choosing colors and finishes. She was so wonderful and I was very sorry when she left California. Alexis is definitely a designer that I would work with again and recommend, without reservation, to anyone. She is respectful of one's taste, personality and budget. I feel confident that anyone who works with her would agree.

> Alexis has helped us tremendously during our remodel project which included the selection of premium complementing materials and visionary design services. We cannot overstate enough how invaluable Alexis has been. The value added service she brings is beyond phenomenal and for this reason, we could not imagine using anyone else for our future projects.
>
> In the end, the success of our remodel is a direct result of her expertise, talent, commitment and customer service that has been above and beyond what we could have ever imagined. She absolutely helped transform our house into our dream home!

**★★★★★ — susandias, May 2016**

> One of the best decisions we made was using Alexis through All Natural Stone in Dublin, CA. She helped us with a whole house remodel including two bathrooms, fireplace and kitchen. She really knows her products and has excellent design taste. She did such a great job that two of my sisters also used her for their kitchen remodels. She has a bright future in design!

## Community Q&A

**Q: Countertop and Backsplash** *(in Photo Questions)*

Hello,

Wow, what a beautiful kitchen you've created! Would you be able to share your countertop material and the backsplash tile? Looks like a Quartzite similar to La Dolce Vita to me, and backsplash looks hand-glazed. So pretty!

Sara

A: Hi Sara!
Thank you so much! The counter top is actually called Taj Mahal Quartzite (similar to Dolce Vida, but less blue), and the back splash is Sonoma Tile Maker's Bossy Gray 3x9 ceramic subway. Sonoma has a great website, and all their tile is handcrafted!

**Q: POLL: What is the most useful kitchen utensil?** *(in Polls)*

What utensil is your kitchen go-to over and over again? Is there one tool that you find most useful and important in your kitchen?
VOTE and tell us about it in the comments!

A: oven mitts!

**Q: Bathroom Tile** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Need opinions/suggestions on this tile installation.
The white subway tile in bathroom shower is uneven and appears wavy. Tried to fix a couple tiles here and there but then others look worse.
What would you do?
Thanks!

A: Tundra Finish Works is spot on. Especially their last sentence....

**Q: Would you choose hardwood floors or carpet in the bedroom?** *(in Polls)*

Choosing between wood flooring or carpet is a practical choice and a question of aesthetics. Carpet comes in surprising colors and patterns, while hardwood has natural beauty. Beyond aesthetics, hardwood flooring is easy to clean and is longer-lasting. Carpet, on the other hand, is easier, faster and cheaper to install. A few other things to consider when choosing between hardwood and carpet may include: do guests remove their shoes? Are pets allowed to roam anywhere in the house? Do any family members suffer from allergies? With that in mind, what is the first thing your toes touch in the morning, hardwood or carpet?

via @ Shaw Floors & @ Amber Allman Wilson

A: I'd do hardwood floors, and have a nice big rug under the bed so it's not cold in the morning.

**Q: Grout?** *(in Photo Questions)*

What color/ brand of grout was used in the shower?

A: On the floor tile we used Customs Urban Putty color \#172

**Q: Thoughts on these backsplashes (updated)?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

You all did such a wonderful job of helping me with my last backsplash dilemma. I am down to these two backsplashes as my final choices. I am presenting each choice with the cabinet color (not style), granite selection, and flooring. Appliances will be stainless steel as will the sink.
This is choice A. I like this because while it is still a neutral biscuit color that coordinates with the almond cabinets, I like the large tiled look, the thicker grout, and the shiny texture. I think against the granite it would really pop and make the granite the focus, and provide a contrast to the cabinet material. Additionally, it would be much easier to clean. The downside is cost. I also wonder if it would be too much shiny with the granite and the counter?
This is choice B. The positives to this one is that interest is in the differing shades of beige/cream in the tiles. I like that the color is a blend of light and dark. It is a simple subway tile, classic look. It is also much cheaper than choice A. The downside is that the texture of the tile kind of blends in with the cabinet, and I'm slightly afraid that the differing colors in the tiles might draw attention away from the countertop.
For better comparison here are both together:
Appreciate any thoughts or things I should consider.

A: If it were my home I would do the second option. It is timeless, and beautiful. I love the lighter grout they've chosen too! The beveled tile (option 1) is nice, but is a little off proportionally. It's pretty big and blocky, while option 2 is less drastic. The smaller look also blends better with the cabinet style, since they only look to have a 3" (ish?) raised thickness around the edges.
