I love the windows and fireplace but bed hiding a door entry into an office is not ideal. I do want a tv in here but not necessarily over the fireplace. Please help with layout ideas! All ideas appreciated!! A: Honestly anywhere you place the furniture it's either hiding a window or a door. You did a really good job in placing the furniture the best way you can. I do agree that master bedroom was not designed properly and it's hard to make furniture layouts work in this room because of all the openings. I assume you want to use the furniture you have but another solution would be to buying smaller furniture to fit. I'm pretty sure you don't want to do that so I came up with a sketch below. I'm not sure on actual size of anything since I am not in your space but I think this layout should work based on your pictures. The only opening that would be covered in this layout would be your window partially. I hope this helps! . **Q: Paint color for kitchen cabinets** *(in Design Dilemma)* Hi. My husband and I just started redoing our kitchen. Took the old tile back splash out and tile counter top. We put in a new counter and white subway tile. We are now getting ready to primer and paint the cabinets but I can't decide on a color. the counter top is Hampton Bay Typhoon Ice. I was looking at Benjamin Moore's Ashley grey. I would love some suggestions New Counter top Old kitchen New subway tile and counter Cabinet doors off and sanded at this point A: I think a dark grey if you want to play it on the safe side and keep it neutral. If you want to make it more bold and edgy I say a blue colour. I like the picture below of the blue cabinets especially because it's not to much blue they just added it on the bottom cabinets and kept the uppers white. Hope this helps! **Q: TV mounting question** *(in Design Dilemma)* Hi, we want to wall mount our TV and are trying to figure out how high on wall to put outlet. We are thinking of 40 inch tv any ideas? A: 42" from the center of your tv to the top of your floor is a pretty average height. Hope this helps! **Q: My new master bedroom** *(in Design Dilemma)* I have a big master bedroom and it has a big window i am not able to decide where to put bed and where should the dresser go plz advice me what should i do A: Actually for your dresser mirror somone made a good suggestion showing that picture of putting those two mirrors by the closet on either side of bed. Then your dresser mirror can go where those two mirrors were by your closet. **Q: kitchen layout help!** *(in Polls)* I need to finalize my kitchen... today! We are really happy with it except unsure about the cabinets to the right of the hood. I do not like how it is so much longer than the left. We have a large 72in window on the right side as you can see. We considered open shelving to the right of the window and now are wondering if we should go ahead and put a 36 in cabinet to right of hood and then opening shelving next to it. I would then just put the plates and bowls mostly on open shelving since they are used every day. Thanks for your help! A: I think having cabinets on either side of the hood at 36" than the open shelving to the right is a great idea. I have seen them in lots of homes and it looks beautiful. It's a good way to display beautiful dishware that you have. I have even seen people display family pictures, decor or plants there too. I hope this helps! **Q: Side by side rooms layout help!** *(in Home Decorating)* I’m moving into this apartment once the renovations are done. I’m not sure what to do with these two side by side rooms. The dining area is in the kitchen not shown, so do I make this into two living rooms/ two separate seating areas? The front door is in the second photo shown so I was thinking of making an entry way with a bench, but I’m not sure what to do with the rest of the space. If only there wasn’t the step dividing the two rooms... A: it's hard to see what's happening with the space do you have more pictures? If not I would suggest the area in front of your entry door be a dining area and the space on the other side to be your living room. You can divide the spaces making the living room more cozy by adding a large display between the spaces. Here are some inspirational photos.
